If you can't stand Paul tell us who you DO like, what you'd like to see happen. What is your dream for America and who is best able to take us there?

Because it's much easier to repeat what the news told you about Ron Paul, that it is to think for yourself. But I agree, those complaining so much about Paul should just create their own threads about their favored candidates. Some of them, I'm sure, wouldn't descend into political trolling

I like Romney because...

1) He looks presidential.
2) I also like Obama, and I don't think an incredibly-rich white republican with most of the same policies can beat him.
3) He's not set in his ways, so I know he'll probably change his opinion on things I don't like him for.
4) He seems to have a lot less baggage than Gingrich.
5) He's got good taste in his (many) housing purchases.
6) Only the STUPID military, intelligence, and economic experts disagree with his policy ideas
7) ....ok guys, help me out here - I'm running dry

In my experience, the majority of people who do not like Ron Paul also dislike the other candidates. And they usually hate Obama as well, and all politicians while they're at it. I've heard some interesting arguments - for example, that RP's plans to greatly minimize government beaurocracy would allow corporate corruption to skyrocket. The rebuttal to this, is that a Libertarian government policy would protect all unconstitutional encroachment upon the citizens, by properly enforcing property rights. BP would have been destroyed by civil lawsuits, instead of protected by unconstitutional government beaurocracy.

Unfortunately, because of the perceived simplemindedness of the general public, issues of such complexity are often ignored both by the media, and by campaign advisors alike. This is unfortunate obviously. If these important issues were discussed more often, we'd have a much more relevant and interesting campaign, with the candidates' true colors being expressed. And in turn, people who held mistaken views about Ron Paul (or any candidate for that matter) could come to a better understanding.

It would be nice to have a thread that wasn't about Paul but as you can see here over run by Paulites refuse to listen to the OP and try everything to destroy the thread.
