Some have argued the US invasion was a mistake. Whatever you feel about that, some are arguing now that Iran is moving into Iraq and taking it over politically and economically. What do you guys think....

I do not agree with it.

Iraq is too deep in America's pocket, for Iran to be able to just "take over" Iraq.

vvv

Iraq was really the target. Iraq has vast oil field that is very attractive to the US. Look who controls those oilfields now. The US, of course!

Iran is next.

Iran is one of the worlds largest Exporters.
Why would they need to buy oil?

Iran didn't trick us....Sadam needed to show that he wouldn't back down to the Americans because if he did back down Iran would of attacked Iraq...

All this info is well known, just read the Sadam's FBI interview that he gave after he was caught.....of course it was never talked about in MSM or really even in alternative news media because we had already started another war....Iraq was already on the back burner

Nope. The Chinese have much more say in the oilfields than the US does. I've seen it.

Up in northern Iraq there are many Chinese construction companies, gaurded by "Chinese Security Contractors" aka PLA, working on improving the oil field infrastructure.

The Chinese benifit much more than the US does from Iraqi oil. The Chinese are also putting down roots in Africa as well. They think long term.

No!

Arguably it seems, that the nation Iran has profited from the war. The Shi'a majority which was suppressed under Saddam are now the rulers over most of Iraq. They share the religion with their Iranian neighbours and Iran has send in it's undercover agents and aid to strengthen Iranian-friendly forces.

Perhaps (although unlikely) Chalabi, with his phony intelligence against Iraq, acted as an Iranian mole.

But, Iran was in no position to incite jingoism in the US and to control the MSM. Even if Chalabi acted as a mole - the bulk of fraudulent intelligence came from other sources. The interpretation of the fraudulent intelligence was not done by Iran. Iranian lobbyists and politicians didn't lead the US into the war.

Even before 9/11 Bush wanted to invade Iraq. The Neocons lobbied for war against Iraq. And when after years they were finally in positions of power during the Bush-administration they abused them to serve their own agenda. Already in 1996 leading Neocons like Perle, Wurmser and Feith had drafted a plan for the Netanyahu-government. This plan called for the ousting of Saddam Hussein and destabilisation of Iraq. The Neocons are followers of a bizarre ideology which combines Zionism, fascism and jingoism. Many profited personally from their ties to the military-industrial-complex. Others like Kristol, Safire and Krauthammer wrote their lies and warmongering fantasy for the MSM.

Although many of those rightwing-warmongers have personally gained from the Iraq war, it was a disaster for the US as a nation. But this is normal. War-profiteers reap in the fruits while the foreign country and their fellow citizens are plundered.

America was tricked about 3 years after the war with Britain. You never seceded effectively from the crown

My personal thoughts on this are that George Bush invaded Iraq because Saddam tried to kill his daddy.

No WMDs no big link to terrorism etc.

We as a country have spend hundreds of billions over there and for what?

Saddam was amenable to threats made against him. Before the war weapons-inspectors were visiting the country and Saddam allowed them even access to his palaces. Iraq was also no save-haven for terrorists. The inspection-process was politicized and no genuine fact-finding mission.
