In a nutshell, the SGS Alternate is what the unemployment rate would be if the Govt. still calculated it the way they did back during the Great Depression.

They have changed the way they count it so it doesn't sound as bad.

The Government stopped keeping track of U6 in I believe 2009 .. it was um .. a little revealing.

U6 was constantly above 15% .. it scared people.
U6 however didn't count all self employed or new college graduates, which is where Shadow Stats adds their numbers.

The United States has to create hundreds of thousands, actually something like 2.3 million jobs each year just to keep up with new college graduates and high school grads that won't go to college.

otherwise unemployment grows.

But it's never reported on U1-5 and grad rates are never even on U-6.
