Personally......I like it better with the quiet. Crowd applause takes away from the time they have to debate and influences those watching that may not actually be listening. See South Carolina debates.

I think all debates should have this.

It takes out the prepared comments meant to get applause. That is all Newt has...and that is why he is doing horrible tonight.

He's actually not a good debater...he is a comedian and a joker.
