To be clear, this storm, while it may cause problems for some satellites and will make for prettier aurorae in the arctic regions near the Earth's magnetic poles, the solar storm only ranks as an S3 on a scale that runs from S1 to S5.

I think maybe more clouds cover with the artificial grey clouds that sit next to the white and blue clouds??? like a buffer of radiation somewhat is my guess.

Some radiation may be blocked or filtered or scattered by clouds, but most of it will pass right through clouds.

Firstly, to answer this question, its best to know that clouds consist of dust particles, water molecules and a numer of gas molecules. This collection of matter is much more condensed than usual gases and that is why they stand out in the sky.

So, light and radiation from the sun comes in waves. These waves travel extreme distances to reach the Earth, but the majority of them won't reach the Earth because they reflect and refract through other substances. The matter in clouds has the same effect, they reflect and scatter the radiation from the sun.
