I wonder what you'd say if you mother had aborted you. Oh, that's right, you'd be dead - after you were alive in her womb.

"I" began to exist sometime around fifth month of pregnancy. If my mother aborted my foetus before this time, it would not be any different for me (or any more wrong) than if she refused sex or used contraception instead.

So even according to the golden rule, abort away..

Liberals are the biggest guilt trippers of all. They expect us to adopt socialist policies to force redistribution of wealth, saying it is our responsibility to take care of all the poor, sick, unhealthy, starving people of the whole world. And then they show us pictures of starving 3rd world children and how dare any of us think we are entitled to our own paycheck?
Well I was talking about pro-choicers, not liberals. If you want to have some far-right whinefest/circle jerk, then go make your own thread.

The best I've heard from most "Pro Life" people is constant appeals to emotion and hyperbole about the issue.

I really do wish that something else would come into play.

It's not enough to say "Hey man, it's a baby, you're committing murder because at some point it will be a human being typing away crap on the internet and eating ice cream".

Sperm are very much 'alive'. We men have like MILLIONS of those things in us at this moment.

Is masturbation murdering them? I'm dead serious too. They have 'potential' to be something. Right?

Ron Paul is wrong on abortion....and I'm probably the biggest supporter of his I know.

He should leave R vs.W ALONE and get on with the serious business of stopping wars and bringing sound money policy into the White House...among other things.

If you are anti-abortion for religious reasons, fine. That's your protected right. IF you're pro-abortion, that's fine also. What I don't understand is the conservative political view on abortion.

Basically, the life begins at conception and under no circumstances should it be allowed for a woman to end a pregnancy willfully. However, if there is no way financially to care for said baby...once the kid is born you're on your own! No government assistance for the child you knew you could not care for!

You existed way before 5 months....is that what gives pro-choicers comfort?

Week 1–3
5–7 days after fertilization, the blastocyst attaches to the wall of the uterus (endometrium). When it comes into contact with the endometrium it performs implantation. Implantation connections between the mother and the embryo will begin to form, including the umbilical cord. The embryo's growth centers around an axis, which will become the spine and spinal cord. The brain, spinal cord, heart, and gastrointestinal tract begin to form.[2]

Week 4–5
Chemicals produced by the embryo stop the woman's menstrual cycle. Neurogenesis is underway, showing brain activity at about the 6th week.[3] The heart will begin to beat around the same time. Limb buds appear where the arms and legs will grow later. Organogenesis begins. The head represents about one half of the embryo's axial length, and more than half of the embryo's mass. The brain develops into five areas. Tissue formation occurs that develops into the vertebra and some other bones. The heart starts to beat and blood starts to flow.[2]

Week 6–8
Myogenesis and neurogenesis have progressed to where the embryo is capable of motion, and the eyes begin to form. Organogenesis and growth continue. Hair has started to form along with all essential organs. Facial features are beginning to develop. At the end of the 8th week, the embryonic stage is over, and the fetal stage begins.[2]

Your brain, spinal cord and heart were forming at 1-5 days.
Brain activity at 6 weeks.

Motherhood is not for everyone..abortion should STAY SAFE AND LEGAL!

If motherhood is not for everyone maybe they should practice the art of abstinence.

Don't you mean 'contraception'?

You see all the Cambodian, asian, russian kids being adopted? People want children and not all can have them...share a life instead of taking one. And I have no religious affiliation, just a moral code that says murder is wrong no matter how nice you try to package it.

Abortion is a terrible thing. I've been through it and in a really UGLY way. The whole process is horrific and I wouldn't wish it on anyone.

That said, a complete NON choice law enactment is dangerous. There has to be an option other than just having a child under threat of prison or punishment.

Because the embryo is a human and not a tree.

Embryo => Zygot => fetus => newborn human

An embryo is not a human. Otherwise it would be called a human and not called an embryo.

Why are so many in America so keen to see the return of the dark days of back street abortions. I don't know anyone who says abortion is something to be celebrated, but if women are going to do it, it's best it's done in a safe environment.

making it illegal wont stop women having abortions, so why would you want to punish the ones who do, by forcing them to have unsafe abortions?

Maybe you should look at sex education rather than draconian measures over the choices of a woman's private property.

Actually wasn't being sarcastic at all.
Was genuinely just letting you know that you should use external quotes... I thought you may be posting it and not giviing credit to the source, which is not good.

Was literally just trying to help, that's all.
