I'm going to ask you again to provide PROOF that Rand or Ron started this as a disinformation campaign (as you claim)

Are you going to provide PROOF?

You refuse facts and reality...hard to provide proof to someone who does that.

Ron Paul's tweet on his official twitter account:

My son @SenRandPaul being detained by TSA for refusing full body pat-down after anomaly in body scanner in Nashville. More details coming.

Rand Paul's post on his official facebook account:

Senator Paul is being detained at the Nashville Airport by the TSA. We will update you as the situation develops.

Rand Paul's spokesperson twitter post.

Just got a call from @senrandpaul. He's currently being detained by TSA in Nashville

Detained...Detained...Detained....so where exactly do you think the concept that he got detained came from???

In my opinion, none of us should have to submit to our choice of full body radiation or demeaning and invasive body searches. We already have metal detectors and such. It was bad enough when we had to take off our belts and shoes and practically undress in front of everyone.
I once went through a metal detector after a dance competition and the bobby pins in my hair set it off.

Would it have been such a big deal to let him be re-scanned as he asked? I've done that a few times, no problemo.
I wouldn't want any TSA agent patting me down. I can see a great photo op there. That's not a photo you would want in MSM's hands. He was smart not to give them that opportunity.

Could you please refrain from using such large, flatulent writing? What you state is merely a pretense, aided by the fact that you are playing a game of semantics.

I was merely pointing out the fact that you conveniently left out the fact that Rand Paul does have to be back in Washington today and the fact that he has to make a speech today!

The word "arrest" has more that just one meaning besides the conventional one.

arrest |əˈrest|
verb [ with obj. ]

1. seize (someone) by legal authority and take into custody: the police arrested him for possession of marijuana | two youths aged 16 were arrested.

2. stop or check (progress or a process): the spread of the disease can be arrested | (as adj. arrested) : arrested development may occur.

• [ no obj. ] suffer a heart attack: they were trying to resuscitate a patient who had arrested.

3. attract the attention of (someone): his attention was arrested by a strange sound.

Also, the word "detain" has more that just one meaning besides the conventional one.

detain |diˈtān|
verb [ with obj.]

keep (someone) in official custody, typically for questioning about a crime or in politically sensitive situations: she was detained without trial for two years.

• keep (someone) from proceeding; hold back: she made to open the door, but he detained her.

Furthermore, the word "question" has more that just one meaning besides the conventional one.

question |ˈkwesCHən|
noun

a sentence worded or expressed so as to elicit information: we hope this leaflet has been helpful in answering your questions.

• a doubt about the truth or validity of something: there is no question that America faces the threat of Balkanization.

• the raising of a doubt about or objection to something: Edward was the only one she obeyed without question | her loyalty is really beyond question.

• a matter forming the basis of a problem requiring resolution: we have kept an eye on the question of political authority.

• a matter or concern depending on or involving a specified condition or thing: it was not simply a question of age and hierarchy.

verb [ with obj.]

ask questions of (someone), esp. in an official context: four men were being questioned about the killings | (as noun questioning) : the young lieutenant escorted us to the barracks for questioning.

• feel or express doubt about; raise objections to: members had questioned the cost of the scheme.

I respect your opinion of the current regulations. I also respect your right to protest to get the law changed.

But since it is current regulation that everyone has to be subjected to...I would like it applied evenly...even for Rand Paul.

I think it shows arrogance that the Paul's think they are above the law and shouldn't have to participate in the same regulations every other American has to.

Thanks for this. I said I would wait for the story to come out before making a judgment, and then I screwed up.

If he was on his way to a Senate vote, then that's a different story.

And I really don't know what to think at this point. Is refusing to allow him to beard an airplane the same as "detaining" him? I don't know.

I can't see a case for the TSA to allow him to board an airplane and break the rules because he's a Senator...

Please keep us updated as to the outcome of this.

I am not interested in hearing how TSA is worthy of any praise. They are disgusting.

"He" posted?

Or the Facebook page posted?

Please clarify.

What does this even mean??? Facebook is not alive...it can't post by itself.

These statements are on their official pages...what aren't you getting about this???

1st) Do you honestly believe that Ron Paul personally sits at a computer and posts onto Facebook and Twitter?

You do know that a majority of "famous" people hire people to perform that function for them, right?

2nd) Honestly, If this story made it this far, he had to have been detained. If TSA agents escorted him anywhere, what does that mean? He wasn't allowed to move freely until they "released him."

The act of escorting, MEANS he was detained.

This is being covered by many news agencies right now. Front Page of Yahoo, yet nothing happened? The reason the TSA is saying he "wasn't detained" despite "escorting" him is because if they admit it, well it's Unconstitutional. They have no right to detain a Senator on his way to make a vote, or escort him any where...

I see this heading to the courts. I wonder if it will be handled the same way Jesse Ventura's TSA case was handled...

So Rand Paul has no control over his staff and they post things that he doesn't agree with.

Great...so Rand Paul is just as incompetent as his father in overseeing things written in his name.

Or...they are just a couple of drama queens that like to be sensational about having to follow the same regulations as every other American.

You keep saying words like 'official', yet the "OFFICIAL" government Twitter accounts say nothing.

So again, you have not yet provided any PROOF that Ron or Rand Paul THEMSELVES started the line that Rand was detained.

I will keep asking for proof as long as you talk on this thread, since you have not provided such.

You're really NOT getting it are ya?

You have NO clue about Social Media sites.

Trust me, I've run Marketing campaigns on these formats.

You're not 'getting my drift" so I'm gonna drag this out until you think outside your sad little box.

Keep going, I can do this all day.

He was taken to a private room. My guess is he was free to go, but just not board the plane. Most people who are in this situation do have other options. Drive, take the bus. Don't go. But he has apparently confirmed to the AP he was on his way to a Senate session this afternoon for a vote. So honestly...what other options does he have?

Detain in this instance is indeed a tricky use of wording. But...being a Senator on the way to a vote, personally I think he should have been allowed at least another walk through...like he said he was 2 days before in Denver. I We do know he made another flight to get to DC and to the Senate. I do not know if he made the vote he was trying to get to though.

I don't have a clue about social media sites???

You are the one that claimed these accounts were probably just one made by a supporter...when they are clearly their official sites.

Here...let me clue you in on something...most senators and representatives have two accounts. One is for their government position...and one is for campaigning or personal use. I wouldn't expect them to post something like this on their official government account. That is for informing about upcoming legislation, votes, etc.

Are you continuing to deny that these are in fact official facebook and twitter accounts for Rand and Ron Paul???

I am no supporter of TSA, that's for sure. I refuse to fly. I know Rand doesn't have that option in this case, but should they have let him board? Granted, they should have scanned him again, but they didn't.

I think this is a case of a situation that didn't have a solution planned out ahead of time. Hopefully, this will bring to light the need for a new plan in the case of elected officials flying... They can't give them special treatment.

Maybe he should have gotten to the airport earlier.

Yet you can't provide ANY proof that Ron or Rand PERSONALLY started this whole story.

And you have a staffer fro Rand who said they were 'detained'....yet even on her Twitter page she says

Check this hand 'cause I'm marvelous. Oh, and my opinions here? They're my own. Comms director for Rand Paul, y'all.

And NONE of the other pages you linked to are proven to be "official' as in PERSONALLY updated or written by Ron or Rand themselves.

You have provided NOTHING YET to back your assertions that this whole thing was an attention seeking event started by Father and Son who are public officials.

I will keep asking you for proof until you stop asserting what you can't back up.
