How far are we from this?
How does the virues structure effect this?
Can info be embedded in a virus?
Has anyone tried this (links), research...?

Well we likely are capable of doing this already. The USA spent unfathomable amounts of money researching Biological weapons in the 20th century.

In fact the first use of a Biological weapon was much longer ago than most people realize. It was was 1825 I believe, When Andrew Jackson sent small pox infected blankets to the Indians, ushering in a new era of warfare, Biological.

Viral Research tends to be highly classified, you won't find a How To on the internet for a Bio-Virus.

I will say when it comes to viruses, there is no single threat more real and dangerous the existence of our species. Imagine if someone developed an "Ethnic Virus". A virus that would only attack one race. In 1997 the secretary of defense said this Ethnic Virus was "a definite possibility"

So the threat of Biological warfare still exists. Quite frankly is more scary to me than Nuclear War. Nuclear Bombs and Radiation can't kill off all the life on this planet, However the right type of Virus, Could.
