the probelm with American is that people no longer want to assimilate...because of so much cultural independence people are going in ten different directions...

The problem with America is not that it is full of Americans. No, rather the problem is that it's people have been indoctrinated into a institution at a very young age, which listened whole heartedly of what a citizen should be, and just like every nation state around us, cannot think for themselves, without the news media, elites, and any-one with a certification to tell them how to live their lives.

The problem is not with every nation state citizen throughout the world, the direct problem is the blind faith in institutions such as religion and it's nation state's laws, that set up the collective whole for failure

The problem with america is we are conditioned(in my opinion). I have read some of the responses in this post. There are some very true views of the state of america right now. Sometimes it does seem that american's really don't care about the direction of where this great nation is going. I think that "most" not all american's have the idea in there head that, "why should i try to change things, when my voice, or my vote really does not matter!". So in return the people who do go and vote are the one's that vote in the same guy's who don't bring change. On another note who say's it is easy to change thing's once you become president, there is alot of red tape! Just saying! I could go on and on with this subject, but there are to many variables and truths to both sides of the issue of why america sucks or does not suck.

Oh and btw. Your not american from what I understand. so wtf cares what you think? go and pillage though your pile of trash.

I'm American as apple pie. Born and raised here.

But I have also been to a few other countries. And I can tell you with a strait face that the Vast Majority of Americans are lazy, stupid, ignorant, greedy, self centered pieces of crap.

I have tried my damnedest to inform people of our monetary/economic debacle. And how our freedoms are being stripped away. And most people don't give a crap.

So you know what? Neither do I. First chance I get, I'm outta here.

The vast majority?!?!?!?! Seriously? Don't show your ignorance by avowing your "belief" as statistical data. Maybe if you live in a trailer park and your only shopping experience was Wal Mart, no offense to those that frequent Wal Mart and live in trailer parks to which this does not apply...

I think what we really need is a new forum for "Hating the United States of America". That way, those of us who aren't completely blinded with hatred for something they don't understand, can delete it from our lists.

Agree, the problem with America is that it's filled with Americans. That is the problem with the entire world, it's filled with humans.

People have a serious tendency to suffer provided that suffering is tolerable. Once it is no longer tolerable they tend to rise up, but that doesn't change the generally ease with which they are swayed by nonsense. Do most of them know any better? No, hence the problem with most mass movements.

I've said it many times, do not wish for revolution, but fear it for the people which constitute it's membership.

Americans have little concept of our history or founding really.

The problem with America is the political parties. Look who they offer us to vote for. They are all crookeder than a pan of guts. These guys are all loyal to their parties and not to the people. They don't give a rats pa toot about the people who elect them. They toe the party line so all the lobby money flows to their pockets. Haven't you ever noticed that the politicians who aren't particularly wealthy before they get elected, become wealthy after they are elected. Ever wonder why?

Special interest groups buy the votes of congress with payments from their lobbyists. So unless the people can outspend the special intrest groups, the political scumbags in Washington won't ever represent the people. The parties need to be eliminated. The lobbyists need to be eliminated as well. Take away the crooked money that flows to their pockets and see how few of these scum will run for office when they don't get the crooked money, and have to actually answer to the people they are supposed to represent.

From what I have observed, it seams that Americans do not want to help themselves. Or maybe it's the opposite, and that is all that they want, is to help themselves. Obviously this country is not heading in the right direction. This is evidenced by the continuing downward spiral of the economy. But does that deter Americans? Hell no, they are going to keep on electing big Govt., corporate puppets, and religious zealots.

It is just mind bottling that they continue to vote for Romney, Gingrich or Santorum. What do they hope to accomplish?

Apparently they are not interested in seeing things get better.

"Hey, lets vote for the same scumbags that have been running stuff and hope for a different outcome."

From this point on, I am done with the US. It will get what it deserves.

It's called freedom, Sunshine. People are free to be as smart or as supid as they want to be. If you don't like it, you're free to vote for somone else, free to call those voters stupid, free to move, free to stay.

Free to rant.

The good thing about America is that it still has Americans living here.

I don't call that freedom, I call it willful slavery to lies masquerading as truths for the purpose of entertaining and distracting people. If that's what Freedom looks like, then I want none of it. I'd rather live in a country full of smart and wise intellects who I would be proud to call my brothers than a country full of paranoid schizoids who want nothing less than excess, who are proud of destroying the earth, who are not conscious and mindful of their decisions. Born in slavery and head first into a life filled with fear and doubts that will follow them until they die.

Are you free to collect rain water? Free to live off the land and be tax free? Free to drive a car without a licence? Free to trade food for goods and services? Free to separate yourself from the state? Free to get help from a doctor for being sick instead of profit? Free to call people or chat on the internet without being monitored? Free to download music without being arrested? Free to sit on a street corner and beg for money? Free to run down the street naked? Free to buy a plane and fly it? Free to think outside the box without being judged? Free to # a guy up the ass? Free to die if you want too? Free to smoke Marijuana? Free to snort some coke!?

I could keep this up all night long. Your definition is totally screwed up and your only defense to that is that these rights would impede other people's freedom, which defines the entire concept that "Freedom is an illusion".

No.. you're free to do exactly what they say and to be exactly who they expect you to be.
Go to school, study hard, make good grades, buy a car, attend university, buy a house, get a wife, have some kids, pay off your mortgage in 20 years, pay for your kid's college, midlife crisis, retire at 60 when you're to old to enjoy life and die in a nursing home because it's too hard for your kids to actually care for their parent who worked so hard at giving them what he was told they needed.

You are nothing but a number, a gear in the machine and you are not a necessity; you are very disposable.

Your vote doesn't count if you're an individual, it is forfeit for the nominee which has the most corporate sponsor is the one that will win. This proves how little freedom you actually have. Voting has nothing to do with individuals since individuality doesn't exist within the confines of your system. You are not free to think or act as an individual, everything which would consist of you being different and thinking for yourself is made illegal. Most people cannot see this because most people are willfully blind.

I can already hear the patriots reading this in anger shouting "Don't you dare say that about my freedoms!".

What a waste of human intellect..

Where, pray tell, do you live where all those freedoms are evident?

I have lived all over the country, And no matter where you go it is always the same.

You either run into republicans who blame the democrats for everything. Or democrats who blame the republicans for everything. Try explaining that they are both equally to blame and their brains melt down.

And I started off the thread saying "From my observations". And I have seen nothing to lead me to believe otherwise.

You guys did not forget it willingly, though, as far as I'm concerned. When you look at the image of war veterans in the public arena, it's not hard to see why you all forgot what the cost was. You didn't listen to us. Not because you chose not to, but because we were shut out of the limelight, simply because we have seen the dirty underbelly of society, and they don't like it when we bring that up. It's not your fault. You have just been mislead, however, I believe that this equation will balance itself out eventually and more of you will see, but I do not know what exactly it will take to get the red white and blue sheeps to look up above the grass and see the true progression that events are taking. I guess we'll see. I honestly hope I live to see the day, but it's looking dimmer and dimmer, tbh.

It's this very attitude that gets the world's hackles up in the first place. You establish your presence in every country on Earth yet couldn't care less what we think? No bloody wonder your country is going down the gurgler, what with attitudes like yours in charge.

That's an ironic statement coming from a Brit...

I would agree that the problem with America is Americans. However, it is not you and I, it is the ruling class; they put up these morons who run for office. We do not have one single candidate running for president right now who is actually qualified to run the country. They are all corrupted puppets. And, the one who probably is not corrupted, Dr. Paul, just has wrong ideas about a few important issues that make him wrong for the job.

I sincerely believe that the #1 problem in America is the military/industrial complex. As long as that pig needs to be fed, we will be at war. I say we kill the pig and eat him. I'm up for a good old fashioned Southern pig pull! How about you? Let's start with the Joint Chiefs of Staff and their criminal cohorts at Lockheed!

Way more free up here in Canada where girls can walk topless in the streets of our capital and where smoking weed is not a crime punishable by 10 years in jail. Men are free to have anal intercourse and are free to get married. There are tons of people residing on other people's land, in mud houses and living off the land. Also, health care is free and we help people out of compassion rather than profit; we have a right to life and now we're fighting for the right to die.

And ironically, we're very socialist,

I guess we know that freedom stems from equality, from equal rights. We know that when certain people can afford more rights than others, freedom fails.

I would NEVER want to live in the U.S.

I guess that's the trade-off.

Socialism vs our type of government.

Caveat; our government is wrong on so many levels, TSA, Patriot Act, DHS. . . . ad nauseum.

But we have the potential to be so much better, WTHOUT government/socialism intervention.

You are inserting meaning that is not there. I'm not advocating removing humans, only being realistic about human nature.

Every time we see a rise in the human condition, it gets beaten down piece by piece by the very human nature we pretend doesn't exist or at least isn't as big a contributor than it really is. America is a prime example of that.

Yes, I took your comment completely out of context and twisted it around to suit my attempt at humor.

My use of your post should not be taken as a wish to eliminate humanity on your part.

But it may be necessary.
