I first gained interest in the Paranormal when watching shows like A Haunting,then later Ghost Hunter and finally Ghost Lab.I particularly was interested in since I noticed that there might be something to the real life happenings from a scientific perspective,but was rather disappointed that most of the cases that were "solved" ended up with a priest coming to bless or exorcise the house.

Of course one would have to first acknowledge of the existence of the human soul, an afterlife and spirits but I don't have a problem with all that since I personally do think they exist in my own world view,along with their so called "demon" versions,which I think may either be very negatively charged spirits or some other form of creature from the "spirit dimension" as I call the afterlife.

I want to state that I'm non religious but I am open minded inclined to more scientific explanations and therefore do not believe in the way religious people deal with this sort of phenomena, but I also don't mean to offend anyone that is.So I was wondering whether there are alternative explanations for this phenomena and how to deal with them?

I believe everything religious has a scientific explanation. We just have to find it. It's not like God created a world that completely contradicted the laws through which He/She/It made it...that's counterproductive.

My thoughts in this are two fold, one from a personal perspective I don't believe in ghost, period.

Now as for the rest of what you said, my thoughts go along this line of thinking. If people bring in priest to deal with these things, and they get the house blessed and they no longer have problems (Something many people have said has helped their "haunting")

Than either it was all psychosomatic and the priest coming by "fixed" their problem, and mentally gave them a way out of what ever psychosis the people where experiencing.

OR The priest really did something, either Religious in origin or "spiritual" or its some other mechanism science hasn't defined.

You're welcome to your own beliefs. However, I think you should study Poveglia Island, one of THE most haunted places on Earth. This is not an exaggeration. It is one of THE most haunted...and if you spend one night on that island, you will not walk away a skeptic, guaranteed. You may not even walk away at all...and I'm not being dramatic here, either. But as I said, one thing is certain: you will not be a skeptic.

But then again, where would we be without skeptics?

Personally, I think that a lot of ghosts, the spiritual realm, blah blah blah are just beings that exist within another dimension. If I'm not mistaken, a popular thing in String Theory is that our universe actually has 11 dimensions, most of which are simply too small or obscure for us to notice.

I think that ghosts and stuff can be explained using quantum mechanics and other such lovely things, but we just haven't gotten to that point yet and don't yet have the proper knowledge or exploration in such fields.
