Is the wind alive, a living organism? (speculative)

Now that may seem the most idiotic question to some.
But is it really, that idiotic?
We have a good description of the wind from science, but no forecast based in it, maybe a few days, so it is imperfect. It leaves open the possibility to explore ideas.
So, for the wind to be alive, what would it need?
A metabolic process.
1. Reproduction
It can be argueed that tornadoes and such are wind reproducing, we simply do not know enough.
2.  Excretion.
For sure. Have you looked after a tornado, tsunami?
There is excretion. Probably the wind excretion is there too or
RAIN.
Its wind excretion!
3. Growth
We dont know enough about wind, in this regard. But it is more likely constant, like bacteria life.
4. Nutrition
Yes, the wind "eats" air, and water. Clear proof of this!
5. Transport
The transport of the wind is yet unknown.
6. Synthesis.
The wind is a pefect example of synthesis.
From small gusts to tornadoes, it is extremley varied.

So there you go.
I would say, pretty convincing that wind may be alive, and should be studied further, from this vantage point.
After all you could measure and predict human behaviout to an extent (few days), doesnt make it a force of nature!
Btw, if you have an perspective, critical thinking skills, you would be able to tell, that this is how the greeks though, and why our thoughts create our reality.

No, but it is part of a living organism. And no, it doesnt consume air or water, it IS air and can push water depending on strength

My theory is that air and wind are seprate.
Have you failed to grasp this?

See it tricky, the wind (a living organism) hijacks the air, and so you thi k its the same. Prove it is the same. This theory has never been studied!

Wind is not alive.
Organisms, seeds, pollen, bacteria, and viruses may be suspended in the air, as well as water and anything that might be suspended in the water to boot, but, the air itself is just that; air.

You may as well say that water is alive.
or dirt.

It's just a concentration of elements forming a mixture.
Actual life has evolved to take advantage of these environments, but, the environmental substrate is not itself alive.

it is energy. I believe the wind is alive!

Now, before someone brings up ocean currents, we know they are causes by the moon mainly, and tectonics: think flow and pull.
So, could the wind be caused by say: solar flares?
Its a possibilty.
This is the whole idea of the post.
But I dare anyone to disprove wind could also be a living organism, not yet understood.
We simply do not know enough.
I am not saying it is a living organism, but i advocate a detailed study.
I fail to see the link between gravity and wind, as to providing an explanation.
Point it out if it is that obvious.

S&F for a very thoughtful thread, but it's like saying that gravity is a living organism. This would be very difficult to either validate or falsify.

A basic 5th grade level knowledge of meteorology proves this to be incorrect.

there are spirits, wind spirits, that move the air. in german legends the wind is called heavenly child. the saying goes: the wind, the wind, the heavenly child. maybe angels moving the air around us ?

Are you serious?

Temperatures and air pressure cause the force of the wind. A low pressure area will attract cold air as the warmer air is forced up into the sky, so imagine as the warm are rises, and the cold air rushes in to take it's place. WIND.

Man, what are they teaching in school these days...
