We are not down on America we are down on its elected officials, as you said their is a difference. You know the ones that unconstitutionally declare wars based on fear and falsehoods (iraq)

The English and the Americans have a bond stronger than our views, one you can see in the news coverage when our Queen goes Stateside, or some President goes to the Mall and up to the Palace!!!

Allies thick and thin, and it works because we've both had our failures.

Concepts of "secret cabals" aside, in reality, the special relationship works because of 'common interests'.

back to why people hate america and the american way

its because we flaunt it I for one do it all the time and again I love being american but i feel that that is one of the major reasons is we put it out there for people to see it and ridicule us about

There are some valid points to love or hate my country. I am ashamed of my country currently. I have become somewhat of a loner due to my growing disgust of the policies and procedures enacted by the HNIC and can't relate to other people's happiness. I even hated Bush II, wasn't crazy about Clinton... The only prez I felt safe under and trusted was Reagan. Of course I was just a kid, but even kids have intuition. The question is what have we done honorable lately? Everything we blow up is rebuilt using borrowed money using American super companies run by members of congress (haliburton). No bids, no choice. All of our operations are super secret and if anyone unveils the true nature of our business they are subsequently arrested, detained and labeled a terrorist. TV and movies are crappy these days, so is the music. Nothing is American made anymore and if it is it's unaffordable to continue due to rising taxes and unstable markets (THANX GLOBALIZATION!). It's safe to stay I'm bummed about my America.

WHY are so many angry at a Nation,that has the same problems that every other Nation has?
Is America to be held in a higher standard then the rest ? These are the questions I ponder on,and MANY more.Why I made the thread. I expect a few to agree with me. I expect to see the detractors also. Common ground,and a common fix would be nice.

To answer your question is very simple. No nation is perfect but no nation as the POWER to effect the rest of the world we live in as much as the USA...

Its like saying the person who screws up your order at the MacDonalds drive through has more effect on harming people than a cop who screws up and kills people accidentally on routine traffic stops.

America is the most powerful country in the world and can effect most of the world. With that comes huge responsibility. So when the elected officials in America are corrupt it not only effect the American people but others as well. I just done see whats so hard to understand.

I would bet this is an Australian. I just laugh at their comments and nobody takes them seriously. Many have a hate for the United States because they hate that our influence is taking their culture from them. What they do not realize is...we don't decide their culture, they do!

I suspect that many who have posted both Pro or Con would like to see the USA returned to the way it was. Which was a strong leader with clear justifiable directions and intent.

Why the hell would any intelligent person wish to take a firearm to any of those places? What possible benefit does being able to bring a firearm out like you have described bring?

To answer your question, as long as it is in a locked case and unloaded, yes I could bring one to any of those places, but because I am not a simple minded American, I can also see that there is no reason to.

This is true, but this can not happen when people think everyone hates America cause we are free or they are jealous. There are legitimate reasons citizens in other country's have to hate our government, just as their are reasons we have.

So my question is why not stop the arguing with each other and instead focus it on our elected officials and hold them accountable.
