Ever been in a roomful of PHD's of absolutely USELESS fields of knowledge? It is like being in a Porn Theater with self masterbation of egos occuring as they debate what is right...what is wrong...the phylosophy behind a Human activity or action.

I was for a while a Proff. Aid. He was a kind man and always had time to help students who were having trouble in his class...he also worked for the Agency as he was very good in what he did. I asked him once...why is it you never go to all these lectures you get invited to. Some of these places were real nice areas to visit for the 3 to 5 days a person would go and since he could bring along another person...and I was still young...HELL...I wanted to go!

He said...because the only thing that happens at these events is people being snide with each other and judging others on what paper have they published recently. He also said because of his work...and they never really experience real life. Split Infinity

Why should I tell you where I am from?

Human beings have a quality called empathy, where they can experience what others go through without having to directly experience it themselves, a quality psychopaths definitely lack.

I am capable of feeling what Americans do around the globe even if it doesn't involve me, my family, friends or aquaintances. I understand Americans cannot until it is personal to them and would most certainly welcome them receiving a bit of what they dish out. Perhaps then they will understand what they are doing?

What a thread! It took me a while to think about what I wanted to write. I didn't want to throw out some knee-jerk post about the same ol' same ol'.

So many posts here are saying that it's American policy that they hate, not Americans.

That's all good and well, I suppose, but it is the American people that get punished by others for those policies. Much like people saying they respect soldiers but hate war. (Isn't that like saying they love ribeyes, but are vegan?)

Good or bad, America is a reflection of it's people.

I look at America through a different set of eyes. Raised in the UK, I learned to appreciate many things that Americans took for granted. On the flip-side, I learned to appreciate many things in the UK that Brits took for granted as well.

America has changed because it's people have changed. (cause/effect, I dunno) If people want the America of old, then we, as Americans, must re-create that America. We are only as good as our poorest law. As a people, a culture, a nation, if we want change then it has to come from us. Not some empty suit(s) in DC.

If you hate America, you hate Americans. Justifying it with word games won't change that. I happen to love America, warts and all. I appreciate the country founded on principles that I try to use every day. Americas days aren't over.
Not by a long shot.

But it's going to have to be up to all of us to make sure that we stay on the right track.

Im not really sure I'd like to see any other nation invade america in the name of "humanitarian aid" because your government is oppressing your people !

Hopefully things will change if America drastically changes, as we all know what happens to America happens to the world

America isn't its leadership.


America is unique because it is a mix of individualism as well as large size.

This is a problem. Because it means rarely does consensus occur.


Hence, the government rarely does what the people want, because the people rarely have a consensus.



There is an attempt going on to unify america, mostly this is through making us all dumber. But such attempts fail to learn from the histories that men like Machiavelli have written down. It will just blow up in their faces.

Why do you think you have to stick up for your government because they are your government. My government is just as guilty when it comes to Iraq, and soon Iran, and i hope they get justice. Blair has already sttod trail for the Iraq war, but this world is so corrupt, im sure he will walk away from this and people will not even question it.

As for empires. Briatain was the last emprire to colonise the planet. America have a different approach to their empire status. Invade countries with bs lies, then put puppet american friendly governments in place. Iraq,libya, iran, who will be next?
