Here's another article with another date, weird...THIS IS A HOAX!!!!!
Homes evacuated in security alert

Published on Thursday 10 November 2011 09:34

The security alert in Derry’s Foyle Road was last night declared a hoax.

Earlier traffic was diverted away from the area after the discovery of a suspicious object.

The alert ended at around 6:30pm.

SDLP Foyle MLA, Colum Eastwood, said the alert “ once more caused unwanted and unneeded disruption.”

“The consequence of this alert is on vulnerable residents who have been evacuated, on businesses who are attempting to trade in difficult financial circumstances and on children trying to get home from school.

“Perhaps those responsible would have the courage to come forward to explain the reasoning behind these futile consequences.

“I would urge anyone with information about this alert to pass it on to the police,” he said.

Derry bomb alert over

Homes and businesses have been evacuated in a bomb alert in Londonderry.
Residents have been allowed back to their Londonderry homes, after a bomb alert in the city ended.

Army bomb experts examined the suspicious object, which was found in the Foyle Road area on Wednesday afternoon.

It has now been declared a hoax, and roads which were closed have re-opened.

SDLP Foyle MLA Colum Eastwood has condemned the disruption caused by the alert.

He said: "This alert has once more caused unwanted and unneeded disruption to the Foyle Road area. The closing of the bottom deck of the Craigavon Bridge and the subsequent traffic disruption has extended this disturbance to the rest of the city.

"I would urge anyone with information about this alert to pass it on to the police."

Possible, but I don't think that warrants sealing off the road, actually I may have misread ceefax, but it is currently reading Foyle street, (near tourist centre) and Strand road, so two different locations. Also in update, there have been evacuations and earlier telephone warnings.
