Indictment Charges Megaupload Site With Piracy

The irony is that I know murderers who did not face the time that these guys are!
If you pay your taxes and play by the rules you normally do not get any flack. These guys f'd up somewhere in the payoff protocol.

I look at them as dumba$$es with money. How do you not cover your bases if you know that you are involved in an illegal scheme?

I know a lot of them and believe me they are out there aplenty.

The name of the game is $$$$BLOW IT$$$$

If they did not do anything illegal then their respective councils will get them out of the hangman's noose....and if not?

They will be made CLASS A examples of by the United States.

Remember, the roads are owned by the government. Maybe the banks should sue the government after bank robberies. Maybe we're onto something big here...

Hopefully they have a good stash of money saved up to pay for the best lawyers! If not, oh well.

Even the guys in "breaking bad" who made meth found out very quickly that a good, corrupt lawyer will get you out of most everything! Did these guys who made megupload not watch some of the content that was "made available" on their own servers?

If I was gonna go the way of a corruptly viewed business I would seek legal counsel before anything else.

So if they didn't.......to bad so sad! next time, be smarter! as the napster guy who got charged. He came back and put his money and talents into facebook. And I guarantee you he has lawyered up to no end!

He was ahead of his time, and anyone
to work with him was very lucky.

Hopefully kim only gets a year or two and
a few paper..

I never uploaded to Megaupload but had an account there, it bugs me that my e-mail will end in some fed database....

That apparently would only incriminate the road owners if they knew that the roads could be used for illegal activities and discussed such in internal e-mails:

The moral of the story is that what you think is private communication, apparently isn't according to the big brother regime...and what you say can and will be used against you, even if you thought it was private communication.

They had at least 50 million dollars, but that was seized. Who knows how much more they have?

Our state and federal governments are spending all of this time, effort, and money trying to arrest and fine "supporters of piracy" instead of going after child porn sites, gangs, murderers, rapists or helping the homeless, working poor, drug addicts, etc. This is ridiculous!

How much material was on mega uploads, It seemed like there were things on there that were infringing on copyright laws. Though I am firmly against the implementation of SOPA some may abuse copyright privelages such as the fair use act

Wouldn't it be horrible if singing songs out loud, heck, singing the Happy Birthday song, would get you arrested because the tune and lyrics are copyrighted? And what is this going to do to libraries?

Look into this mr. Kim Dotcom abit more, the founder of Megaupload and the sinister appearance of this aggresive behavior on behalf of MPAA funded copyright law's seems not so bad... This guy was the german equivalent of a wall-street shillster. He was a liar, and a cheat who got busted for insider tradeing back in 90's. Then he fled too Thailand and was eventually arrested and served time, apparently he claim's too have also been charged with hacking the US pentagons computer's during the gulf war of 1993 too view satelite images of Sudam's mansion's? which seems like a cover for his own ass IMO.

After reading these account's I would not be suprised if some of these "anon" attack's against the many differnt website's including those owned by the US government were not atleast in-part carried out if not orchistrated by well-payed individual's working on behalf of these Megaupload creator's and partner's??? Maybe even initiated by botnet's designed by Mr. Dotcom himself or the aformentioned highly paid free-lance hackers.

I have been looking into the megaupload website and i found a live chat based on megaupload. They are currently in the process now of getting it set back up. There was a ip website they had up earlier im not sure if its still active. But i do know its not some phishing scam because theres no username login AT ALL. So im pretty sure its legit but i didnt wanna risk playing with it . In time thow it will be back. When they take down one we open up 10 more. Gotta love the internet > ; D

I don't know if this is what you're talking about, but still, I think you should read this:

Anonymous members are distributing a link that ropes internet users into an illegal DDoS attack against these websites simply by clicking it. The link is being shared widely on Twitter and in Anonymous chat rooms, often with no context except that it relates to Operation Megaload. I clicked it a few minutes ago because it was being spammed in an Anonymous chatroom and found myself instantly DDoSing Universalmusic.com, my computer rapidly pinging the page with no way to stop except quickly closing the window.

The thing is, DDoSing is a criminal offense that could earn you 10 years in prison, if you do it intentionally. With previous versions of LOIC, participants had to acknowledge this risk and press a button labeled "fire." But now, it appears some enterprising anonymous member has retooled it so that it automatically fires if you click an unassuming link and leave a window open.
