MOULTON — Lynne Gobbell never imagined the cost of a John Kerry-John Edwards bumper sticker could run so high.

Gobbell of Moulton didn't pay a cent for the sticker that she proudly displays on the rear windshield of her Chevrolet Lumina, but said it cost her job at a local factory after it angered her boss, Phil Gaddis.

This is totally the wrong reason to fire someone just because your boss doesn't like who you're voting for. This is another prime example of Freedom of Speech being flushed down the toilet. Disgusting!

I work for Homeland Security and we are constantly working..we have training daily and random tests, security updates, terrorist updates, looking for explosives, looking for terrorists, questioning items and suspects, and etc...we put in 40 per week and more...

and that is just the top of it..

PS: what the hell makes you think we have high salaries? we get paid less than the companies that were doing this job before we got here...approximately $5 less an hour with no bonuses...

If you want to respond to the boss who fired the woman for her bumper sticker, you can reach him at

phil@pgeddes.com

Here is what I sent him:

"I am a registered Republican living in Mesa Arizona, and you make me almost ashamed to be one. Your actions in firing one of your employees because you didn't agree with her political views has probably resulted in a couple hundred votes for that socialist, John Kerry, and was a slap in the face to people who, unlike you, have a bit of respect for the Constitution of the United States.

You should be ashamed of yourself, sir."

I'd recommend that you not come across as a radical anti-Bush weenie; it would probably just make him laugh at having pi***d you off in the first place.

He'd probably be more likely to apologize to the woman if he were under attack from fellow Republcans and Bush suporters (or at least from folks who say they're Bu#es).
