I think that this is a very plausible theory indeed, all be it one with little evidence behind it. The idea of it seems highly possible.

AND if it could happen to a child with a notable 'mark' like madelines eye, then it would make it harder to identify a child without such a distinctive marking.

I read a while back about a place called 'castle of darkness' in i think Muno? anyway the article i read suggested that the first boat out of portugal (near where madeline went missing) was to Muno, and that it is possible she is being held in this 'castle of darkness' which is well known as the (previous)? owners were the manufacturers of prozac. This castle is well known aamoung satanist groups and highly likely a place where child pornography and captive children take place.

It's kinda bothering me no one will challenge what I said about sources for conspiracy theories. With the whole sources and all. I've also noticed some people even stopped posting afterwards. To the OP though, S&F for you for challenging an idea and going public.

Well done James, I admire your bravery. I too have always thought there was something wrong with this case simply because of the attention it received but I doubt I'd have the nerve to make the post you did.

Like you I think the story is being used to usher in the chip however I hesitate to think thats how it started. If I had to make a guess I'd say there was some sort of accident (sedative?) and TPTB saw an oppertunity to make good use of the story.

I hope the girl is found though, no matter why it happened, but its been a long time now.

I've been meaning to post this one for a while now, I kept putting it off. It's interesting to see that I'm not the only one who has independently reached this conclusion. You might well be right that TPTB jumped on an opportunity, or was it all planned right from the start, it could be either
