Almost had a wee tear in my eye.

Whether you are for or against Scottish independence, you cannot deny that this is a wonderful piece of writing!

Vote for nearly £1000 a year off my tax bill. There I said it.

No I am not, I am implying the English tax payer does. I am happy either way, but if the scots want to be anti British and demand your independance then so be it.

That is 100% not true. You don't think we pay taxes and our for share for the UK? Take your bigotry and ignorance somewhere else please. It is people like yourself which makes us come across as "anti -British" and for wanting independence.

As of May 2009 the unemployment rate in Scotland stood at 6.6%— slightly lower than the UK average and lower than that of the majority of EU countries.[148] The most recent government figures (for 2009/10) suggest that Scotland's finances are in a healthier state than for the UK as a whole, with Scotland contributing 9.4% of UK taxes but receiving just 9.3% of public expenditure.

Scotland unemployment figures...

Unemployment in Scotland rose by 5,000, to 215,000 in the three months from July to September, according to official figures.

The Scottish unemployment rate is now 8%, below the UK average of 8.3%.

215,000. Nowhere near 2.75 million is it? Give over.

I'm English (even though located in Holland) and am a staunch, nay fierce supporter of independence. The UK should be stopped, abolished and dissolved. Power to the People!
