The one thing that has always drawn my attention to the skies more than anything else has been the imagery. I am not educated in the complex area of physics and such, so I am forced to enjoy the universe one pic at a time.

The following is a series of pics I came across on the
MSNBC website and I thought I would share it with everyone.

Enjoy!

The Earth Also Rises!

Man on The Moon

Sun With a Monstrous Claw

Solar Eclipse From Space

Stars Are Born

Perspective on the Pillars

Our Galactic Neighbor

Earth (and our lights) at Night

The First Shuttle

Robot Attacks the Space Station

My personal favorite is the pillars series of pics.

Here is a 'reloaded' series of the pillars that you can look at.. They are beautiful and amazing!

Thanks for looking and please add any pics you think ATS would enjoy.

NASA pointed the Hubble telescope at the emptiest part of the sky they could find and did an ultra long exposure. Despite the tiny field of view Hubble captured 10,000 galaxies and the UDF became an instant historical image.

It's really worth reading the description below the image viewer.

I agree the Ultra Deep Field is one of most important. First time we even had any IDEA of how small we really are..

Ive read books. I grew up reading government books in school. Dont force your ignorance on me. Why dont you look at all the proof around you that the moon pictures are fakes. Or live in your little box the government has made for you. Work, hate and die. I choose to be free.

Image number six always makes me think of someone flipping the bird or giving someone the finger. It's probably just that word that begins with P that I can never remember though. Pareidosis...? No...that's not right. The mind trying to see familiar objects in vague forms or something vaguely similar.
