Ocean's surface spitting open?

I'll start this by saying I don't have clue. Never seen or heard of anything like it. I heard about this video and spent the last couple days trying to track it down. Found no other videos even close to what this shows. Maybe a fake. Definitely alarming. I hope someone may shed some light on this. It is from last year.

Maybe a wake from a boat and one side is rolling over the other? I have not seen quite this same effect before but I have seen intersecting wakes? Thoughts anyone?

I know no one wants to hear this...While it certainly holds a "what the hell" factor, I strongly suspect CGI based on camera movement.

If it is real I would like a reasonable explanation. Until that time comes my hypothesis stands..

Can anyone translate the beginning? Cool CGI, but if it were real wouldn't the boat it was being filmed from start to get sucked in? Wouldn't it just keep growing? What happened to it? Did it just seal up again? Lol.

Probably a whirlpool viewed from a low angle so it looks like a crack. They occur all over the world due to currents and tidal forces. Yes the link is to Wikipedia get over it.

According to the translation I got it was something about the person filming in Victoria island and seeing this sudden disturbance that started with wind and the proceeded to change into a splitting of the waters. The likely cause as stated from the translation I received was something about under water pipes as they were doing some kind of dredging or work in the area at the time.

I still think it is CGI using blender or lightwave, possibly maya.
