To the OP, no disrespect but you are spinning that statement out of it's intention. The statement was about Andrew Jackson, not a statement from Gingrich's own mind. He was stating Andrew Jackson's point of view.

Every country (for the most part) want's to "kill" their enemies regardless of their politics. It's kinda human nature.

The problem here is the reason for putting thoughts like that into American minds, what is the source of the war?

I don't understand how people flip out when they find things like blood lust, women and children, civilians being slaughtered in war are "inhumane" ITS WAR. People die, that's why its horrible.

I know that may be stretching the topic a little bit but I feel that it fits in.

By the way I do not support Gingrich in anyway, nor do I know that much about him.

I think if we're being honest here, you just like getting people up in arms.

There's nothing wrong with defending your family and your way of life.

Instead of saying this though you said, "What is the problem? In warfare, you kill your enemy. I want my dangerous enemies dead;" and you said this in response to a video where people are getting riled up over murdering the abstraction of an enemy who hasn't even been defined yet.

All you would have had to do is word yourself in a way as to express that you dislike that this is a necessary reality and there wouldn't have been any nasty comments.

Next time try to behave like an adult. There are impressionable kids here. Or is that too much to ask of a self professed "proud savage?"

I'd say about 90% of Americans are mentally ill or just genuine sociopaths. The thing with many Americans is that they suffer this acute paranoia that there's always "SOMEONE" out to get them.

Major mental health issues going on with SOME people, particularly in the south. Saying 90% of Americans are affected with mental health issues is completely inaccurate and unfair.

I was threatened with harm earlier by an old man who flipped his lid on me after I said -

"I have respect for the vets, but you have to deal with the old men who carelessly send them into these stupid wars at the drop of a hat."

There was nothing offensive about that comment, I actually thought it was a pretty noble thing to say. These poor people are absolutely looney tunes brainwashed by the military industrial complex, and I don't think there is anything we can do or say to help them. I've tried many times, and I will continue to try to help them if I can, but they just make it really hard sometimes.

You're quite right. Some people have to genuinely deal with mental health issues in their life, perhaps themselves or a friend or family member.

It was unfair of me to attempt to tar all Americans with the same brush.

I constantly have to remind myself that not all Americans are the same.

You have a very big misconception, I'd take that 90% down to about 50%. Half of the people in America are from other countries or are second, or third generation to someone born in another country and usually don't hold the b.s. views the other half hold, as shown in this video. As far as some brit saying 90% of america is mental..well, thats like saying 90% of britian is mental also due to them being almost lock step with america on almost all issues (including the division, the ireland issues, etc)..oversimplification and wildly inaccurate.

Truth is, we are 100% insane, but a bit of insanity is a good thing when dealing with an insane world in general. America sucks, but it sucks less than many/most other places on earth...I can shake fist at our government warhawks talking like some bad western sheriff, but I don't forget that I at least have the freedom and ability to do that publically without fear of being locked up as a political prisoner as you would be in some areas of the world.

Wars make for pretty interesting television. I remember being glued to the news during the initial afghanistan and iraq war.
It was like a cross between reality tv and a video game.

That, I suspect, is their idea of a war...cool television shows and neat bombs to watch drop from a distance. Some crazy disinformation minister screaming about how everything is fine while tanks are in the background aiming at him, etc...bit of comedy, bit of awesome action shots, cool weapons, etc etc etc.

Put those types in the front line and they would of course be singing a different tune...but who's fault is it? the msm makes war look freaking cool, f-yeah! So, the programming machine is really to blame.

During war, we should be all forced to watch the real cameras for an hour a day..not the high in the sky boomcams, but the guy on the street filming mangled bodies and family members crying over the bodies of their loved ones...war should be hard, war should make people literally vomit when seeing it (on both sides). But, our hollywood culture has to make it look sexy.
