Israeli high court keeps Israeli & Palestinian spouses apart

An Israeli high court ruling has left at least one family angry, frustrated and in limbo because the husband, an Israeli citizen, will be forbidden legally from living with his Palestinian wife.

The Israeli Supreme Court reaffirmed late Wednesday a 2003 citizenship law that bans most Palestinians who marry Israelis from living inside the Jewish state. The law is intended to prevent Palestinian migration to Israel on the pretext of family unification.

This is a sick and racist law! I really can't believe such a law exists in what is supposed to be a modern and democratic nation. The worse part is this law applies only to Israeli's marrying people from arab nations! It also greatly affects Israeli arabs who are more likely to have a husband or wife from a different country.

Citizenship and Entry into Israel

What does this law say to the children of these couples, who are deported to another country live without a parent. Or stay in Israel and have one of their parents sent away. And if the children go to live in Palestine, the other can't follow because Israeli's aren't allowed into Gaza or the West Bank.

This law is racist and biggoted to it's core. It has been slightly relaxed to include an age clause, increasing the number of unifications allowed, but it is causing more harm than good.

JUst another fine example of Israels racist policies. Israeli democracy is a joke! The world however, is waking up!

Considering the law is aimed specifically at those with Arab decent, I think it is fair to assume it is racist. Israel has the right to control immigration within its borders the way it wants to, but that dosen't mean I cannot pass judgement on such bigotory.
