They are confused because the former ultimate villain of western civilization as painted by it's protagonist is attempting to wield the powers of diplomacy in an environment that is anything but conducive to peace.

The U.S. and NATO use the U.N. as the scales of global justice, tip them enough in your favor and any action taken, no matter how contrived, how brutal or belligerent has the supposed green light of the world.

These counter resolutions and drafts represent Russian interest in forgoing further destabilization in their interest as well as the further radicalization of their populace.

It's a sad day when the Russians are becoming a bastion of logic and the rule of common sense in a sea of disinformation, fear mongering and war mongering.

Truly it is a mad world we live in, and the sad thing is that the west has been on this trajectory for many years and I only just recently took notice of how insane this world truly is.
