WASHINGTON — Free online knowledge site Wikipedia will shut down for 24 hours later this week in protest at draft anti-online piracy legislation before the US Congress, founder Jimmy Wales said Monday on Twitter.

Seems Wikipedia is following on from Reddit and closing their service, this time for 24 hours

What is really needed though is Facebook and Google/Youtube to do the same, these are the sites that will hit home with most people, most of the sheep don't bother themselves with information sites, but take away their facebook and there would be an outcry, would be like turning of The xfactor, they would have fits
