After looking over many opinions here, I can say that I have to change my stance a bit towards, "Depending on it's purpose".
I still do not agree that "Stripping" in movies is ok by all american standards.
As some put it, the viewer has the choice to "go watch something else", one could argue that the same holds true for that mentallity. If one would
want to watch a movie star strip, "go watch one". Porn would fit this bill quite well. They are movie stars by nudity and sex. They have their
own awards as well. Though, i'm not really sure if I can ever remember a movie that had nudity in it that didnt use it as a tool in some way shape
or form, for sales.
Though the reason I dont get a thrill off of watching an actress strip, is that I feel that the act of doing so for that reason very demeaning. I
feel the same way about porn, but everyone has their collections, right?
Though in the porn industry, that's what they sell.
Art.. hmmm I'm all about art. I think there is a diffrence in art these days... What is deemed art..
But, there are decent art out there
that can be appreciated.
Nudity in it's purpose is beautiful... throw in some skank... you have yourself a soft core porn movie, just with alot of other stuff.
Nudity in comedy... Sure. Keep it off the "Family" TV. That's what cable should be for. Having a child say the F word on a "family sitcom" is
For my point of view, We should keep this country clean to a childs eyes... Let the family decide what they should and shouldnt see. Not the local
avertising agency, or some government supposed source that decides what's ok for our kids to see.
I watch movies for action/adventure/comedy... not for sex scenes. Not for nude scenes that's supposed to take my attention away from the story line
