As if it's not ugly enough, it's about to get uglier inside Iran before the parliamentary elections coming up March 2nd.

Expect to hear Iran to make more threats, push more blame, and do whatever they have to in order to protect their current regime.

For starters, in the last six months, personal war has been heating up between Ahmadinejad and Khamenei.

Here's the latest from today's news:

Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad accused Mojtaba Khamenei, son of Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei of embezzling from the state treasury, the reformist website Jras reported.

The Iranian president’s accusations, observers argue, indicate his refusal to become the scapegoat in the conflict currently going on between different parties in the conservative clique.

The accusations, in fact, came in response to attempts by the president’s opponents to lash out at him through tarnishing the image of his closest aides like his advisor and chief of staff Esfandiar Rahim Mashaei and whose daughter is married to Ahmadinejad’s son.

According to Jras, a delegation comprised of Deputy Judiciary Chief Ibrahim Raeisi, Minister of Intelligence and National Security Heydar Moslehi, and head of the General Inspection Organization Mostafa Pur-Mohammadi, all known to be pro-Khamenei, met with Ahmadinejad and demanded that he dismisses Mashaei.

Mashaei, they argued, is accused of embezzling two billion U.S. dollars and has to be put on trial.

So, once again, expect to hear that more "U.S. spies" are being arrested for interfering with upcoming elections as Iran tries to fake unity.

The question is, how far will either side go to prove who has the most power and allies?

Will Khamenei make good on his threats of eliminating the position of President altogether? Will it happen before the next Presidential election in June 2013? Something tells me the answer to that question might reside in the outcome of these upcoming parliamentary elections...and the aftermath.

From everything I have read and seen in history so far...Ahmadinejad is only the president because the Ayatollah allows the position. Ahmadinejad might be president, but Ayatollah Sayyed Ali Khamenei is the supreme leader of the country and is the one with the direct connection with Allah. Although, lately Ahmadinejad has tried to claim he is the one with the connection. This is where is gets to be not about politics, but about religion.

This is gonna get very ugly very quickly if Ahmadinejad continues his current antics of claiming to be the one with the Allah connection as now claiming Khamenei's son of embezzlement. Someone's liable to end up without a head over this....

As a matter of fact, the parliament tried to question Ahmadinejad over his involvement of the missing $2 billion, but he convinced them to dismiss the matter while he deals with current tensions over the nuclear program. How convenient.
