Hi all!

I'm Jai, my stage name is BelaJai. I'm a lyricist that focuses on the lack of intelligence and thought in the masses. I've got a lot that I am working on and don't have much published online yet, but if you are interested please view my version of Eminem's "Syllables" - www.youtube.com...

Thanks for listening and feedback is appreciated!

Posted before on the Music thread.

A good friend of mine is just starting to release some of his stuff.
I would call this intelligent hiphop.

Check it out

Great reply from you!!!!!!

This was the first time that I smiled at this "music"

I listen to more of this right now and I realise that normally, for me, music has to have "musical" qualities.
I like it when it has a tune, so when you put the volume down, it is still unique.
RAP and hip-hop do not work this way.
I must listen to their lyrics, to really value it.
Sorry, not my way of doing.
A lot of the music presented here has good and some great lyrics.
If you turn the volume down, it still sounds like angry young men.
I go back to music, but I do respect this art-form more through this thread and everyone that contributed, thanks for that.

Thank you for the compliment.
I wouldn't have expected many people to like them. They are a bit "different". I've seen them live a couple of times and they are a real crowd pleaser. Even in Holland almost the whole audience was singing the lyrics with him (Ekko, Utrecht).

Awesome!
Here are a couple more of my personal faves:

And this one I feel is real important. Even though it was made in 2000. It applies to today. I think everyone should listen!

I think one of the most intelligent was one of the first. Simply because it helped bring hip-hop mainstream and delivered the message for everyone to stand up against "the man." From racism, to poverty to police abuse of their power.

Fight the power's that be. Fight The Power

The intelligence is how Public Enemy got their message across to the mainstream. Rap or hip-hop still mostly wasn't popular with white people back then. This song got their attention too.
