I have been saying that for years!! The best thing that could even happen to the average U.S. citizen is a cold war with China,all our jobs would immediately come back to U.S. soil, our economy would flourish. The American worker could go back to work. It would be rough for a little while until the economy adjusted to a lower cost of living but once the plants open back up and we lose the Chinese market our food prices would drop (more supply in the system) our raw materials wouldn't be sold to China they could stay here and improve our infrastructure creating more jobs. The construction industry would explode in new business as some factories would have to be built, machinery has to be built, the few manufacturer's who have stayed here would not have to fight cheaply made Chinese products which would pump more money into our own economy. The current weight of welfare dragging down the U.S would be relieved to an almost overwhelming degree, with all the new positions in the factories, these jobs could have affordable medical insurance, provide a paycheck to someone who might not have finished high school or went to college, and rally up the American pride that was shipped overseas with our jobs.

A cold war with China is such a win for John Q. Public that I truly hope it happens.
