'Western intelligence: Israel behind Iran bombs'

Israel's Mossad is responsible for training and paying the assassins of a number of Iranian nuclear scientists over the past two years, TIME magazine reported Saturday citing unnamed Western intelligence sources.

In addition to the assassinations of the scientists, all of which were carried out using nearly identical magnetic bombs attached to the side of their cars, the intelligence sources claimed Israel was responsible for an explosion at an Iranian missile base outside Tehran last year.

Well, for those of you who criticised myself and others who reported on Iran's 'proof' that the CIA had staged the terrorist attacks in Iran, get this:

'A series of CIA reports revealed that Israeli Mossad agents, posing as American spies, have recruited members of the terrorist organization Jundollah to stage terrorist operations against Iran."

Foreign Policy magazine cites CIA memos from 2007-2008 that the Mossad recruited members of Jundollah terror group to fight a covert war against Tehran.

"Buried deep in the archives of America's intelligence services are a series of memos, written during the last years of President George W. Bush's administration, that describe how Israeli Mossad officers recruited operatives belonging to the terrorist group Jundollah by passing themselves off as American agents. According to two US intelligence officials, the Israelis, flush with American dollars and toting US passports, posed as CIA officers in recruiting Jundollah operatives - what is commonly referred to as a "false flag" operation. "

So, if the Israeli's can pass off as the CIA this good, and recruit people to commit acts of Terrorism in Iran, isn't it possible that Israel is behind the latest Terror attack? I believe so.

That isn't evidence towards the CIA staging these assassinations, it's evidence towards Mossad.

Exactly mate, but Israel takes the form of the CIA to recruit members and do their dirty work. What's stopping them from leaving loopholes in their assassinatin, pointing towards the CIA, so Iran can blame the US? Israel will surely want the US involved in this Iran situation don't you think?

Without question. The United States' strategy against Iran has, up to this point, mainly focused on economic warfare (sanctions). Yes, we continue to spy on the country through surveillance drones, but our ideal end goal is the destruction of the regime through the collapse of their economic system, not combat.

Israel disagrees, and it will continue to fan the flames of an Iranian conflict by committing acts such as these. Israel is an ally of the United States, but that doesn't mean that we both agree on how to handle Iran. However, the drums of war are a slippery slope, and there are contingency plans for any event that unfolds.

I don't buy mainstream media BS. Only primitives think there's no collaboration between CIA and Mossad.

This is all a diversion campaign away from Obama election year. Think about it. Obama is a gutless low-life who denies US involvement in Arab uprising, bloodsheds and invasions.

At least, Bush went in public like a real man to start invasion.

It doesn't mean that the CIA hasn't been involved in terrorist attacks in Iran also. There's been lots of reports of the CIA supplying and protecting various anti-Iranian government factions, allowing them to organize in Iraq and to infiltrate the border into Iran to conduct their mission.

Personally, I've always assumed that mossad was responsible for the precision attacks like assassinations while the CIA seems to be more involved in gathering intel and backing militias.

Make's you wonder...if they can recruit so easily a couple of boneheads (by posing as CIA agents, with false american passports and big wads of dollar bills) to whack an Irani nuke specialist, makes you think how easy it would be to -

POSE AS CIA AGENTS AND RECRUIT 19 BONEHEADS TO TAKE 3 PLANES HOSTAGE AS PART OF AN EXERCISE.

Lets not forget Mossad's signature - BY WAY OF DECEPTION SHALT THOU DO WAR.

I'm curious how it really counts as a "false flag" operation.

We can round-about on this one, a tad... however - recruiting terrorists to perform missions in line with their stated purpose is what is known as Private Military Contracting.

True - it may not be a very western version of the concept; but it gets the job done.

The only thing "false flag" about it is that the terrorists believed they were being recruited by the CIA. Which... to be honest, our own operatives pose as members of other agencies quite frequently, particularly when operating abroad. I would have lost respect for Mossad if they were to have carried out such an operation without a veil of cover.

Although I'm not sure I appreciate the misdirect. We don't need to be 'persuaded' to join the fray over there. I often wonder if Israel is so used to dealing with other nations in a covert and subversive manner as to not really have a cultural awareness of more overt and direct methods.

At the end of the day - I'd rather deal with Israel than Iran.

And, generally, this is why these reports are classified and kept from the general public. Most people lack the context in which to properly comprehend their content.
