Hello I am a semi-new member and love reading in this forumn. I contribute rarely but enjoy the debates and topics on here. Thought I would share a couple of the many poems I have written, criticism accepted and expected as that is the risk any takes in public posts.

What is real?
Most of our pursuits are financial and materialistic
Not intellectual or artistic.
We alienate ourselves from our own interests and what is real
Simply so we can buy a house or pay a bill
Majority of people we meet and things we do through commercial interaction
We are drawn to them and them to us for a cash transaction
Unnatural and Artificial has become what is real
Passed down to our kids and close off the seal

Healed to die
People live all around
Some are barley living
Others with more not giving
This is where I drowned

This is not how it should be
Why are things the way they are
Thought it was the end of me
Past the lies I seen a star

Appearing through the disaster
Appeared to save me, show me truth, beauty
No, cant be real
Can I actually feel

Dull expression on my face changing
Hate no longer hating
Evil not obtaining
What I use to be not remaining

Dont look away try not to blink
Need to hold on to this new found link
Connecting me to what is good
Lift up the hood and see
The healing you have done to me

i really enjoy your writing (Healed to die) , very good stuff , i would be interested to read some other stuff you have written.

i used to write about things i seen my friends go through so here is one of my poems written about a very good friend of mine ,

Broken Glass

She sways upon the broken glass,
her heart so full of pain.
Thinking of all those days, when sunshine turned to rain.
Tear soaked cheeks and blood shot eyes
Wilted flowers soon to die.
Feeling numb from head to toe,
Shattered faith, and no room to grow.
An innocent girl, A corrupted soul
She's hurt so bad but wont let it show.

A year gone by with no remorse,
Letting life run it's crooked course.
A promise of a better day,
Sunshine and no more rain.
Her cheeks will dry and eyes brighten,
Wilted flowers soon will lighten.
No longer numb,her faith regained,
a corrupted soul turned new again.
So she sways upon the broken glass,
Another day has finally passed.

This first one I wrote in school lol it was how I was feeling.

"Time Slows Down"

Time is going so slow
My attention got lost into the sounds of my head
Is the clocks battery low?
I'm looking and hearing but couldn't tell what was said

I'm a different person behind these walls
Is someone else inside my mind
As soon as I enter my attention span falls
It gets lost in a place I can not find

I come to sit, then wait to leave
Only to get home and worry
I try but fail, I don't achieve
I want to get through in a hurry

Its not by chance, I'm being forced
Myself is making me do it
My life to fail has been endorsed
While I make myself sit through it

"Unique Creation"

You think you see me
You think you know me
You think Im crazy
Well then show me

Externally visible
Internally dead
Externally miserable
Continuously shed

My heart is cold and blue
My eyes are blood shot red
I feel nothing for me or you
My veins pump liquid led

I crave what is wrong
I despise others expectations
Am I weak or strong
Or just a unique creation

"Never Free"

Why is this world so meaningless
its not something Ill ever miss
everybody acts so fake
but when they give I still take
there is no love of any kind
its all just bull# in your mind
I look around and realize why
so many people want to die
I try and try I want to change
put the old me out of range
kill myself emotionally
so the real me can be free
now I see Im locked with no key
Ill never be free Il always be me

"Break Through"

Makes no sense, who cares?
You all watch and stare
Do what you have to do
Get in my way, F*%$ YOU
Id sell out for money and fame
Bail out when its not the same

Don't let morals get in your way
They don't help in the world today
Im not preaching just saying what I see
You've seen it too, turn on the TV
Money is our God
TV our Jesus
Fame our Religion
Success is what feeds us

In the back of your mind
you know that its true
In the back of your mind
its what you want too
Make the minority rule and the majority few
