I think our ability to have faith is a quality that should be expressed, as it is a cornerstone of humanity.
From what i understand (if you think that Evolution is correct, and putting aside alien engineering of mankind) , the fact that our brain is able to
ponder such questions like the existence of god, the after-life etc., is some kind of by-product. It means that our brain has evolved for practical
reasons like surviving, finding food, reproduction etc., and it is just a coincidence if we are able to reflect on the existence of a god. It's just
that our brain is looking for purposes and causes wherever it looks, in order to detect threats and ways of surviving/escaping.
I am often wondering if there could have been other ways of evolving. Can we imagine an alien intelligent form of life which could have evolved
differently ? Maybe some kind of passive behaviour, more like a tree; an intelligent form of life which is not permanently looking around itself to
detect potential threats and stuff like that, therefore not having "the faith function" and not looking for a cause or a purpose to everything they
can sense ?
