Right now I'm leaning towards flipflop's "Last Night's Supper" - it's very down and dirty, and "Ultraviolet Blues Band" which sounds exciting and fresh.

What were your favorites, everyone?

You know, it just occurred to me that trying to master The Blues is a lot like having great sex...

Don't forget to listen to your fellow band mates.

For example,I know your a guitar player so:

If you have yourself a drummer with good meter and a sense of groove,playing off his or her hi-hat and snare is great fun.
If he's busy with a lot of splash and varying time,not so much.

Basic for any band to sound right the Bass player and Drummer need to lock in time and groove. Without that,no matter how great a vocalist,keyboardist or guitar player there is,it will sound like a trainwreck.

I may be preaching to the choir here. Just throwing it out there to help your success.

I totally agree... whether the body of the music is fat or lean, the drums and bass are the "skeleton" that holds it all together!

The other day I listened to an interview with a writer. This writer wanted a title for his new book but couldn't find one. Next thing he did was meditating on it for three days and came up with the most common, strange and stupid name for his book. It became a number one best-seller.

He said that after three days it just popped-up in his mind and he stuck with it.

Anyways,...you can guess that I will use this technique when I need a name for my new product.

Which is exactly why Led Zeppelin was so great! Jones and Bonham provided such a great foundation for Page and Plant to excel on. Not that they weren't great in their own right, but just listen to the Percussion/Bass foundation of such songs as Kashmir and their cover of When the Levee Breaks and it's apparent that you guys are completely right about this.

I agree that the choice of name is Derek's and his alone. I think this was more of a collective exercise to stimulate his thinking process.
