Source please? I'm curious.

Ok so who did the native americans kill off??

We dont know but war and fighting was very common. It is my understanding that tribes were fighting with each other more than they were friendly to each other.

Put simply, you didnt want to be out on the plains by yourself.

I am sure there were battles over resources between certain tribes, they were of course humans. But implication that they were more warring than friendly with each other is broad statement and would like to see the source of that please.

The source?

Does having a brain count?

This is the "lite" version:

But really sources are hard to come by since no one recoded these things but we do know those time were usually very brutal.

edit on 13-1-2012 by Malcher because: (no reason given)

Are you implying I have no brain because you made a broad statement and fail to provide any real proof of it? You speak as if it is common belief but when asked to show some backing of it you reply "sources are hard to come by since no one recorded these things but we do know...". Yeah ok I see, so you meant your opinion. And who are we as in "but we do know".

And the only example (or "source") that you gave was a wiki article on a South American empire (hierarchal and hardly a tribe) even though we were speaking about Natives in North America. Not trying to sound harsh but I not to fond of people spreading info like truth if no real substance can be attached to it, especially when dealing with cultures.

Also have you ever heard the saying "history is written by the victors"?

and back to Palestinians, who are treated very well by the Israel government as well.
When the city of Troy fell and other Mycenaean citys fell in Greece, survivors fled on boats and some settled on the western shores of Syria-Palestine. These people were known as Philistines, from where we get the word Palestine.
Seems to be what history suggests.
A displaced people arguing that the land is theirs over another displaced people who claim it.

Jerusalem was first mentioned as a City, under the Priest King Melchizedek, who worshipped the God of Abram,
"And Melchizedek king of Shalem brought out bread and wine; now he was a priest of God Most High. And he blessed him and said, "Blessed be Abram of God Most High, possessor of heaven and earth; and blessed be God Most High, who has delivered your enemies into your hand." And he gave him a tenth of all. "(Genesis 14:18-20)

From my understanding it has always been the people of Gods land.

No! It's the Israeli's taking the Palestinan's land! The Israeli's claimed it was their land 1000 years ago! They came and took it in the last century!
People do some reading! Sheesh

I have been around awhile. I remember the truth. Don't let the media or anyone else, rewrite history. We have the internet now and there is no excuse for people to not know at least some of the truth! Document everything, because someone will surely try to rewrite history, as has happened in the past, and the people who remembered and were there, are gone.

It is simply ridiculous.

As a Native American myself, I see truth and see things for what they are. Todays Palestinians are not the Palestinians of ancient times. Just as Israel of today are not the jews of ancient times.

In ancient times. Current Israel was split into 3 areas. The northern kingdom was Israel/Israelites, the southern kingdom, (including Jerusalem), was Judah/Jews. The Gaza strip partly in Egypt and partly in Judah was Palestinia, (those people are scattered throughout the world as the ancient Israelites are today, not ancient Judah/Jews).

Current Jews, Judah of old, have claimed entire Israel. But, current, (so called Palestinians), are terrorists and want a piece of Israel, Gaza, that is a dangerous and important safety concern for the entire land of Israel. If that piece of land were to be given to muslims, within a very short period of time every non-muslim person would be murdered and non-existent. Research and you will see why it is important for Israel to be.

If in fact Palestine EVER becomes a country, I as a Native American would expect that the United States government give Native American land back to my people. Just principle!

There is no such thing as "native americans". If you want a country go back to asia where your people came from during the last ice age.

I understand what you're trying to say: you promote genocide as long as the victims are human, because humans are inherently wrong. I still think it's awful that you think that, but to each their own.

By the way Natives revered the land and animals. Also, humans are animals and animals will migrate, so you have no case.

Natives were fighting over land and killing each other long before "white" people came here. Stop trying to get sympathy and just stick with your topic. Your analogy is dumb. The US giving native americans "their" land back vs another country giving their "natives" their land back. If you want to vote for a one world government than make sure to bring that up at their meetings.

Israel was founded by using terrorism. King David hotel bombing for starters. Lavon affair..... And many more events. So the arabs are the terrorists?

Maybe Israel should let the Palestine people build casinos or something? Worked out of us and the Natives.

OT: Honestly I wish we could just sink that part of the world, get everyone off it first and just sink it and say "See now its nobodies holy land!" but that would only create more problems.

To be blunt: Native Americans have reservations. Granted, I think that the acreage of the reservations should be increased.

Besides, it's completely different. Native Americans were conquered. Unfairly and unjustly and a genocide was committed, but they were conquered nonetheless. The Palestinians, on the other hand, were instrumental in taking down the Ottoman Empire in the first World War. For this, the deal was that they would get the land that is now Israel. They basically got screwed over in a deal with Europeans, the same ones who instead set Israel in place.

the palestine's land was taken from them in the modern era. And have been fighting for it back ever since. Similar in some ways? Sure. Different in so many different ways that it makes this argument redundant? Absoultely

Native Americans immigrated from Asia to North America anyway... and before that they immigrated to Asia from Africa.. just like everyone.

North America never belonged to the so called "Natives". Heck your ancestors only became the "natives" after they BUTCHERED EVERY LAST CAUCASIAN MAN, WOMAN AND CHILD that inhabited North America first.

Be grateful we allowed you to survive.
because you and your people most certainly deserve less.

are you insane. muslims will kill every non muslim in palestine. jews, for a fact, live in peace and prosper in iran of all places.

you know, the evil iran who want's to kill every jew on earth.

to bad the same can't be said of muslims in the occupied territories and israel.

they are second class citizens, treated like trespassers, branded terrorists, thrown out of there homes without any legal recourse and then have to watch in humiliation as jewish families move into brand new houses built on the rubble of their old home.

not to mention being at the mercy of angry and hateful soldiers who could shot them in the head, point blank and face absolutely no charges or justice.

if i were you i would go to your states archives and find out any treaties your ancestors signed. i pretty sure they've all been broken and could possibly earn you a multi-million dollar settlement.

Yea well if you wanna go that far back , then we should find ways to communicate with the animals get them to stand up from the invasion you native americans brought !

Thats right all those species were there before you native americans! So technically your on borrowed land too !

.. suck it up . you stole it from other species

You want to give the land back to the animals? Yeah, okay, good luck with that. I'll be waiting...

No, and I'll tell you why.

A Jewish claim thats 5,000 years old is "legitimate".

An American Indian claim thats only 200 years old is total B.S.

Thanks for playing.

Except the Palestinians were betrayed by the allies of whom they supported, and were promised independence.
You make it sound like the Palestinians stood up only like 2 or 3 years before. It's been going on for more than 60 years. Palestine is occupied, if you can't see that with tools like the internet then you are simply ignorant.

Take a look at Gaza for instance, does that seem like the Palestinians are out of there?
They have been fighting non-stop for over 60 years for their land back, then the opinion was the Jews were persecuted in Europe, so move out or we'll destroy you. Now the general opinion is that Palestinians lost a war, you make it seem like two equal sides.

The US cries and imposes the 9/11 tragedy in all our faces, but why are a million Iraqis not remembered? I'm sorry but are you also desensitized to "terrorist blood"? Is their blood cheap? How about the hundreds of thousands of Palestinians? How about the 1,417 killed in Gaza of whom 926 were citizens?

And the other 5,000 wounded?
The only tragedy here is, that even with tools like the internet, with websites like ATS, and amazing amount of evidence, we still have a huge number of people of your intellect, who claim that God is some real-estate agent, and that since colonization happened back then, it should be allowed to continue.

How would you like it if that happened to the US? And don't tell me about how Palestinians should go to neighbouring countries because they share similar traditions, and have the same language. That's like the Zionists throwing out all the Americans, and 60 years later, saying that Canada is the second largest country in the world, they speak English as well, and their population is only 30 million. So why don't you go there?

There's a massive difference.

The slave drivers (yes most "settlers" were actually slaves or given little choice on coming here or not) conquered the hell out of the native tribes using outright genocide. This is verified in historical record.

Israel refuses to admit they are conquering and it's not politically correct to question why they don't admit it.

Massive difference.

I don't care who conquers who or what nation does or doesn't exist. I believe in letting the chips fall as they may.
Israel matters as much as any other country I do not live in nor have any voting power to change.

Israel simply is but they have to own the fact that they are indeed committing genocide. It's just a matter of its supporters also admitting they support the ethnic cleansing of the Palestinian people.

And if it makes everyone feel better, I have part Jewish blood.
