At this point I'd think you'd have to pay people here to vote for Obama in 2012.

I wonder if the agents are paid well. Our tax money at work ...

Seriously though ... that was a very disturbing piece of information.
'spose I shouldn't be surprised by it. But still ... YIKES!

I still believe there is a government above the government, the financial elite that are pulling the strings. It really doesn't matter what party you belong to - someone else is making the decisions.

One of the biggest problems we have is "career" politicians. We need working class people back in elected positions that can see eye to eye with us.

We are circling the toilet bowl and about to get flushed. I am only 37 years old and this is NOT the same country I grew up in.

I wish I could star your post a thousand times. You've really nailed it.

Awareness is a mixed blessing. It can be a burden at times.

I don't watch TV anymore unless a major event is unfolding. This puts me at odds with nearly everyone else I know...

We've raised a whole generation of children not allowed to say the Pledge of Allegiance in school because it has the word God in it. Or, it might offend some unpolitically correct organization. We've lost America.

But alas...like every other thread on the subject, it will be a hot topic for a couple of hours and then die into oblivion. Nothing will change, and next week another similar thread will pop up. Why? Because we all like to say we know what is wrong, but no one wants to stand up and take the first step.

There needs to be a movement, with no agenda attached to it other than ousting those who have served more than two terms in office. That's it, nothing more. No 12 page declaration, no right/left support groups, just average American citizens demanding our reps step down and allow average Joe's to step in and do what is right, not what is good for their wallet.

We need Americans to rally together and demand the madness stop. We are powerful in numbers. Our voice is being drowned out by dollars. It's time we shouted louder than the money. After all, if we remove them from office, the money machine stops. If we do this enough times, new officials will get the message and it will stop. Our government will once again serve it's citizens.

I absolutely have to point out that, the erosion of civil liberties has taken place since the PATRIOT (ACT) [it sure is] this was brought about by a criminal complicit element within the US government orchestrating an attack on the people.
Bearing that in mind, please realise just how dangerous the waters are that you are in, this is a pre-prepared situation that the "government" now has you in.
The news is the public implementation of an ongoing plan whilst making you believe everything else is to blame, no wonder you cannot stomach it.
I used to be a news junkie, i do not watch any tv anymore, i find documentaries, or films i want to watch online, my "News" is carefully filtered to provide as much of a perspective from many sides as i can find, only then knowing what i know about a bunch of pedophiles and their prediliction to lie their asses of to stop the public getting an understanding of what is REALLY happening, can i attempt to discover the truth of a given situation.
The BBC,CNN,FOX,ITN, can all go blow as far as i am concerned, it is all mud designed to keep you bogged down and none the wiser.

Each country is registered as a corporation, the CEO of the corporation is the president, you get to vote for the CEO, but, the share holders and owners of that corporation are calling the shots and tell the CEO what to do next.
This is why nothing changes, the CEO couldn't change anything even if he wanted too.

I'm surprised to see no ignorant post that mentioned it was socialists fault yet.
I'd like to be optimistic about it but i know ATS is the .001% sane part of America and even there...
Dont talk about geo politics to an american, it will end up in a fight.

@ the OP
The main theme is FEAR not brainwash because you can brainwash some one into doing good things, Tim Tebow for instance. While fear can be used to sooo many extent. Heck, you can program, induce, create fear out of thin air. We thrive out of fear, we shop, we eat, we vote out of it too. Its in our mind to believe.

I'm not saying I'm for or against any of the candidates, but one man cannot change the system. Changing things would take both the house and the senate to pass legislation against themselves, and they would never take away their own power or profits.

Unfortunately, I feel this is just part of the cyclical nature of the nation/state that we have seen through history tied in with the natural faults of man. Nations and Empires have been founded for one reason or another since the begining of civlization. They rise, peak out and fall usually from within and out of the resultant disorder a new system is formed where the previous hierarchy is dislodged and thrown aside in favor of hopefully a better leader or group of leaders or rule by indvidual voice. Thus the cycle begins again. Yes some empires/countries have lasted an incredible length of time, but in the end they all fall by the wayside due to our own human shortcomings. I think we are seeing the same thing here and it might go one of two ways, restitution or revolution.

I think when people are well fed, when their life is going just good, they are more oblivious. This of course is how the PTB feeds off these people. There is a certain obediant class of people, that are given comfortable jobs, they have a comfortable life, nothing they say or do will get them in much trouble. Then there is you the person who sees through the fog. You question why the world works as it does. What you find out is that those obediant class of people don't want it too change, everything is just jolly for them. Why would they want to think about stuff that doesn't affect them.

Sadly this dream will not end until these people's livelihoods are jeopardized. When the economy comes crashing down they will wake up finally. When they lose everything they have because they weren't paying attention. I do not fear a revolution from those that are awake to what is going on. I fear the revolution that will occur when the masses of obediant people, wake up. These will be the irrational, drooling, and distraught people. All we can do is focus the message so that when they awake from their slumber we have a message to send them that explains what they just realized upon waking up.

That is probably one of the best written replies that I have seen in a long while. Thank you for the insight and time to write this.

I feel like I am dreaming and I woke up and wasn't back in my own reality but am stuck in one of my nightmares. What in God's name has happened to this country? Some of the people running for president have admitted by there own words they don't know what is written in our Constitution and they are winning states? What have we become?

We are in the biggest tailspin in recent history, our downfall will be taught in other countries schools in the future and they will say, this is what happens when the citizens of a country are too well fed, entertained and medicated. They associate freedom with manufactured security and bliss.

America was not meant to be this way, it was not meant to house the largest population of prisoners in the world. It was not meant to have a law on the books for every single activity of everyday life. It was not meant to make the super rich, richer while making the average hard working person poor. It was meant to be a land where people could make there own way through life, some rich, some middle class and some poor, but those decisions should be made by the people and there motivation. What is happening now is that government law dictates who those people are.

We need to get out of other countries, we need to start congress on repealing laws instead of making new ones, we need to opt out of censorship and we need to stop training our police forces to act like SS storm troopers and more like fire fighters with a gun if THEY ABSOLUTELY need it.

We need more voting on local, state and federal laws and not let an elite few in congress decide for us. We need term limits on congressmen, we need accountability for crimes committed by the federal government. Somebody please explain to me why Holder isn't in jail already for fast and furious?

We need Americans to start acting like Americans in 1776, we need to take the country back, our government neither deserves it nor cares about it, I am ashamed to be an American and it's not because of where I live, it is because I tolerate this government to run it.

HAHAHAHAHHAAHAHHA you are so dreamin kid. Those americans don't exist anymore. Now were just a bunch of babbling idiots, hopefully 2012 comes and wipes us out so we can just start over

Kind of rough. Think maybe giving the Natives all seats in the government would work? It was their country before white man pillaged, murdered and claimed it... Remember those Native Americans? Don't blame you if you don't want to remember them.

People that I know that have never been depressed in their lives are depressed. I think there is this feeling of no where to go but down.

I received this by e-mail the other day...the sentiments are so perfect but they should also apply to the house and presidential offices imo. I so wish this would happen!!

www.performanceboats.com...

Small part...

1.
No Tenure / No Pension.

A Congressman/woman collects a salary while in
office and receives no
pay when they're out of office.

2. Congress
(past, present & future) participates in Social
Security.

All
funds in the Congressional retirement fund move to the
Social Security
system immediately. All future funds flow into
the Social Security system,
and Congress participates with the
American people. It may not be used for
any other purpose.

3. Congress can purchase their own retirement plan,
just as all
Americans do.

What you are witnessing op, is the exact same when the founding fathers went to the Philadelphia convention and changed the government at that time to what we see today. Do you not think millions of Americans where not pissed to find out that their system of government was done in a closed off, non spoken convention in 1787.

What you find if you research your history texts books is nothing but more of the same, and that is the elites getting their way, passing laws, all the while lying not only blantantly to the people, but deliberately.

As the ole saying states, "the more things change, the more they stay the same."

However, I am with you, wake me up when this nightmare is over

I couldn't have said this better myself...It's a shame what we have "ALLOWED" ourselves to become as a Nation United and no government can fix any of this IMO, it's up to all of us, the citizens. Great post

A word of advice to all....

Tune out, get away, live life as best you can, one day at a time, and have enjoyment as your top priority.

Don't focus on the things you can't change, only those that you can. Family and friends are first, those you can help in your communities and around you second... The rest of the world can wait.

Live like there is no tomorrow!

Maybe there isn't.
