Maybe Japan needs some new interpreters because it looks like they took our saying of “slobbing the knob” a little too literally. Their newest trend in photography, girls licking doorknobs:

I always wash my hands soonest after touching public doorknobs. When in a Bathroom or some other public place I use paper towels to open the door on exit. It comes from working for years in the health care field, and washing hands a hundred times a day. It was proven that other than the floors in a hospital I worked at, the doorknobs were one of the most contaminated areas in the facility. so irregardless of where these people are, I hope they wash their tongues often with plenty of Tide. Though they may need some Clorox as well.
This is one of the silliest things I have ever heard of. And it is dangerous. But then I don't live in Japan.
