A poem by Khalil Gibran, the Prophet. One of the best poetic philosophers. Who doesn't like poetry and philosophy within the same presentation?

Very nice, and thanks for turning some of us onto such a poet. I never knew of his works, but the word balance comes to mind when reading him. I checked him out and his writings immediately resonated with me. Hope you don't mind me posting some quotes.

“You talk when you cease to be at peace with your thoughts.”

“Trees are poems the earth writes upon the sky, We fell them down and turn them into paper,
That we may record our emptiness.”

Out of suffering have emerged the strongest souls; the most massive characters are seared with scars.”

“One day you will ask me which is more important? My life or yours? I will say mine and you will walk away not knowing that you are my life.”

“Let there be spaces in your togetherness, And let the winds of the heavens dance between you. Love one another but make not a bond of love: Let it rather be a moving sea between the shores of your souls. Fill each other's cup but drink not from one cup. Give one another of your bread but eat not from the same loaf. Sing and dance together and be joyous, but let each one of you be alone, Even as the strings of a lute are alone though they quiver with the same music. Give your hearts, but not into each other's keeping. For only the hand of Life can contain your hearts. And stand together, yet not too near together: For the pillars of the temple stand apart, And the oak tree and the cypress grow not in each other's shadow.”

Heavy and wonderful!

Peace,
spec

WRONG!!!
This poem speaks of faith and its relation to religion and has nothing to do with "Love".
Love has done wonderful things to and for me, and it does not question or persecute me.
Religion on the other hand.

Love has many facets - Unconditional love, unrequited love
Love that breaks your heart
Love that touches your soul
Love in love with love
The love of a Mother to a child
A father to a son
A son to a father etc

Your intrerpretation of this poem is yours
Others will interept it as it resonates or not with them

This quote brought me round to this thread, great stuff...

I never fail to see the " nothing new under the sun", but the ways that its not new amaze me daily....

Struggling with just being is sweet harmony.

Peace...

yes I love those lines
I recently wrote in a poem

Pulping the sheltering tree
To write the digital future on
Creating never nowhere lands
Eternity slipping through our hands
Oh! What became of me and you
Drowning in waters, Microsoft blue

etc

"Harmony" that's it for me too when I read the quotes.
No wonder it is comforting to read his works. And I don't get a religious sense from his works overall, spiritual yes, but not religious in a strict and dividing sense. More like expressions of supreme gratitude. When he does reference 'him,' it seems more open than exclamatory.

My favorite part of your post.

"And if you would know God be not therefore a solver of riddles.
Rather look about you and you shall see Him playing with your children.
And look into space; you shall see Him walking in the cloud, outstretching His arms in the lightning and descending in rain. You shall see Him smiling in flowers, then rising and waving His hands in trees. "

Trees...I love it!

Nat King Cole

On a clear day, rise and look around you
And you'll see who you are
On a clear day, how it will astound you
That the glow of your being outshines every star
You feel part of every mountain, sea and shore
And you'll hear from far and near
A word you've never heard before
On a clear day
On a clear day
You will see forever and ever more.

Isis is my favourite star - Sirius
Isis mother of Horus - The Sun
Osiris consort of Isis - Sirius B - White dwarf star - an ancient star that has super nouved
Sirius brightest star in the sky to us and so very close in Astronomical light years of a mere 7 from us
The Ancient Egyptian Book - Coming forth by day (Book of the dead) states:-
When the soul has run the race of purity, It is born as a body of light/star in Orion to serve Atum the one creator
In Orion is a stellar nursey (Orions Sword) Full of stars being born
All these stars are so close to us in the big scheme of things
