Might want to put the same amount of skepticism on the conspiracy theorist claiming they found free energy based on magnet and hamster tech and is being suppressed by the man.

I want this to be true but why have it not it hit the main stream news. More and likely it will remain submerged for another few years. Until we hear another vague and brief report about it then submerge again into the back round. All this vagueness is simply to try and keep the ones who are following the cold fusion process very carefully satisfied.
They have no interest in using this for the betterment of man otherwise it would be up in mainstream news. More than likely this will stay in the back round until the government and corporations have had there fill of this in the military and other sectors for a few more years yet.

The media doesn't report what the public doesn't know or isn't popular at the time. Look at OWS for instance. Once there is no hiding it anymore, the media will be all over it.

I remember reading that, while BASICALLY a harmless (claimed!) device, inside the device there is (allegedly) some nuclear reaction taking place. The device has to be shielded with lead because of this radiation.

You cannot simply "invent" something like that and make the RIDICULOUS claim it will be "on sale in Home Depot" a few months later - without EXTENSIVE tests for security and safety FROM ALL ANGLES and not only a "select few" people where no one even know WHO they are.

There is no fricking way that a potential nuclear reactor (as "safe" as it might be claimed it is) is on the shelves without MONTHS if not YEARS of testing, let alone the exact understanding of the process and underlying mechanism.

How do you know this?

Here in Europe (for example) you could not manufacture a light bulb or even the simplest device and get it on the market without testing from CE, VDE and countless other organizations.

That has nothing to do with testing but everything to do with patent problems. There are currently 8 million patents on file with 3,000,000 pending applications.

ITS NOT POSSIBLE, ITS ABSURD to think otherwise.

I did not see Rossi, or the Rossi E-cat device mentioned at all in the video and the article.
Since he was the first to demonstrate it on a large scale, I would think that they would give him some credit.
It appears the NASA wants this as their puppy, but if I am correct, Rossi has a patent pending, does he not?
This could get ugly before it produces anything.

Cold Fusion is NOT100% restricted to "fusion". All you need to care about is the "low energy nuclear reaction" part. Why does it matter if it's fusion if it's clean fission?

I cant wait till they accomplish fusion power, just think we could shut down all the coal and petrol power plants. Would stop polluting the earth and would be alot safer than nuclear facilities. But then again even if we built fusion plants all over the US they wouldn't shut down the others.

All kidding aside, we should be excited about the drive toward better energy sources and harnessing. Im sick of being held back by primitive energy providing corporate empires and so should you if youre a properly functioning autonomous human being...

Energy does not come "from nothing"...it can only be transformed.

This is an ELEMENTARY principle.

If the process of nuclear fusion/LENR is so new and sophisticated that it "extracts" energy somehow inherited from the molecules used in the process - then how can we immediately assume the process is safe..let alone speculate its so safe that "everyone" can soon simply buy this and use it in their own home without problems.

Because the underlying process does actually not even matter, FACT is that this or that given amount of Energy is "produced" (or transformed to be exact) into heat...(which is claimed to come from the "slow" nuclear reaction of those nickle molecules) - but it could as well come from an still "unknown" process having to do with cat-litter or WHATEVER other process.

It must be some awesome novel reaction which can produce that amount of Energy confined in a tiny box from, say, 100g of Nickle...which is the basic claim of what the device does.

But as said, the process does NOT matter...alone the amount of Energy claimed to be produced and "confined" in the box should give plenty of reason to ask for safety and security...and this needs to be done and be air-tight before even remotely thinking that such a system can appear "for sale in Home Depot".

And this is exactly why the claim that its going into Home Depot just adds another layer of abstruse claims which does not make ANY SENSE whatsoever - as opposed to providing proof that the system works and is actually real.

And, by the way, such abstruse claims are a CLASSIC example how scams (or delusions) usually work...by keeping BASIC questions unanswered - and INSTEAD of answering BASIC questions or at least provide 100% (HUNDRED PERCENT!) of undeniable proof of concept - just compensate for the lack of this with MORE abstruse claims.

This is like the Nigerian scammer who never pays, and with every new letter instead asks for MORE money to be sent to Nigeria with new "stories" why he needs the money BEFORE you can pay you........

And you can link as many alleged proof "new age" youtube videos as you want....it will still stink fishy and still does.

This experiment in this thread may aw some, but not me. It's useless technology. Why even bother with an obsolete technology.

I think not to worry about rubbing ATS skeptic's noses in it but rather this man, Steven Krivit, Editor of New Energy Times. In early January of last year he wrote:

The energy appears to come from nothing, but you just can't detect it with your senses even with the help of most technology.

People observe it and say, "it comes from nothing so it must be fake." The truth is most people are just ignorant and stop there.

Most have been taught by all the universities of the world and man's ego has prevented the truth from being known.

You seem to be trying very hard to "think" this isnt the day. Cold Fusion isnt that hard to understand from the already accepted what "Ifs" about the process. It actually makes sense.

From what i am seeing , is that they made progress on Cold Fusion research , but not enough to call "Cold Fusion" applicable in every day science but more or less proving that Cold Fusion is beginning to make more sense and more within grasp.
