Thanks for the link in your post. Now I get it... we can fuel the world with our limitless supply of deuterium. I knew the energy budget looked fishy.

Edit to add: Although this is an exciting new process, it is basically just a complicated energy storage system; a battery.
If anybody ever figures out what Rossi's e-cat is, that would be my first guess, some kind of battery.

Note how all the demonstrations have been very time-limited, just as you might expect for a battery, which can only release its stored energy for a limited time.

this video gave me goosebumps. its one thing to have a person claim to have discovered cold fusion but its another to have nasa verify it

After the research i have previously done on the Rossi E-cat, i already knew it was real. This NASA confirmation just helps confirm it to at least some of the unbelievers who still choose to doubt everything they come across.

I seem to have missed the part where NASA confirmed the E CAT could you quote that small portion for me?

I also seem to have missed the part where they mentioned that they have even a working prototype?

I like the idea of cold fusion and I know that scientists have been working on it for some time now but I somehow completely missed the part in the sources you provided where they have confirmed the E CAT or even have a working prototype.

So, again I would very much appreciate it if you could please quote for me where they confirmed this?

This would be a huge game changer if it comes to fruition. These units being sold for under 2 grand? it would change the way power is distributed across the globe. Think about it for a moment, millions of people disconnected from the grid??!! This would cause so many ripples across Humanity I can't begin to catalog them all (and some of them would not be good, lots of peope would be out of jobs).

Gotta keep a close eye on this one.

So nickel would become copper.... but with the same mass.

No you get it wrong. If proton is transformed into neutron, then particle will decrease it's atomic number[so nickel would become Cobalt], and mass will not change. But the principle rely , on neutron to proton ratio. When the ratio is above ~1.5, the element will spontaneously emit ionizing radiation. So by changing protons into neutrons you heighten the ratio, because now you have more neutrons and less protons.

This would be great if it's the real deal, but as we speak there's brand new coal powered electric plants going up in the US. I find it hard to believe these big energy companies are dropping two billion dollars a plant, if there about to go obselete.

We are being desensitized to accept the fact that the law of conservation of energy may appear to be violated. I say appear because energy appears to come from nothing, so they get around this by calling it nuclear and providing no real explanation. Although this may work, energy is conserved, but it only appears energy is not. We just don't comprehend how. Yet. At least the main stream doesn't.

Main stream science needs to accept quantum mechanics little problem of there being more energy in a cubic meter of vacuum space than exists in all the stars in the universe. Stop claiming the energy is zero and accept it. It's not fantasy or sic fi.

The energy doesn't come from nothing and is considered nuclear because it acquires energy from quantum space that exists inside the neutron between the quarks. The absence of charge in the neutron makes this possible.

CERN will confirm this by 2013. The same thing happened with the LHC. The extra energy that was identified last year comes from the same place, only it takes millions of degrees and the smashing of protons to release the energy from the space between the quarks in the protons. The smashing and heat is required to negate the charge.

The gluons that hold the quarks together are the doors to the unobserved place called the 5th dimension and if we are not careful, CERN will blow the door very wide open; and if you want to know what I think will happen when this occurs, ask me and I will tell you.

CERN will discover the 5th dimension that exists all around us that our senses cannot detect. This is where this is heading, and there is so much more to this than just proving the existence of the 5th dimension. This discovery will have a very profound impact on the human psyche and consciousness studies.

Just because it hasn't been proven yet, doesn't make it wrong.

This is the same place that electrons pop in and out of as they appear to orbit the nucleus. It's the place of superposition. The place that makes quantum entanglement possible. The dimension where time doesn't exist as we understand it.

The human race is about to take a very large evolutionary step. And this will profoundly change our perception of what is real.

Being published myself, I know if this was true it would be in these magazines: Nature, or Science, or Physical review letters, etc...

I will wait till I see papers that I can read and not a website.

I want this to be true but why have it not it hit the main stream news. More and likely it will remain submerged for another few years. Until we hear another vague and brief report about it then submerge again into the back round. All this vagueness is simply to try and keep the ones who are following the cold fusion process very carefully satisfied.
They have no interest in using this for the betterment of man otherwise it would be up in mainstream news. More than likely this will stay in the back round until the government and corporations have had there fill of this in the military and other sectors for a few more years yet.

Call me old fashoined, but this is just another energy source to be metered an sold to you.. Look up Passive Solar heating, Thermal solar heating, Cisterns hydro electric power, and geo thermal heating.. if you use your brains there is a way to
Uses Passive solar heating and thermal solar heating to heat your homes..
using the water in the thermal solar heating in combination with the cisterns some man made ponds can be used to make scaled down waterfalls or some sort of device that would make hydro-electric power for a small village where solar power doesnt ork well in the winter.. instead of 1 huge water fall or a damm, make many pretty waterfalls through out a village...
and useing the water in the ponds and geo thermal power for heat distribution and water reclimation...

Anything they can meter and sell to you is not good no mater how nice, clean and freindly they sound.
This is their power over you, your dependancy on them for your heat, water and food.. CUT THE UMBILICLE CORD FROM YOU AND THEM!! this is what they fear most.. not needing them.. if there not needed, they'd have to get a regular job like you...

I had heard a rumer of Stalin, they asked him,,, how can you get away with being so mean to your people..
he said, you see that chicken over there.. bring it to me.. he bagan to rip out its feathers one by one... then he fed it some grain.. and says.. see, this is how I can do whatever i want to them.. they are fed by me, i can do what ever I want to them and as long as they have no other means of getting thier needs, but through me, i will always have power over them...

this is my final post...

Free Energy has been suppressed in order to preserve the planet, which is needed for EVERY SINGLE HUMAN to survive. With unlimited free energy comes increased standards of living and an incredible increase in consumption. That consumption would drive the destruction of earth, which many do not realize, is needed to sustain human life. The earth is essentially symbiotic to our existence, without it we would perish.

The elite understand this, and have opted for dirtier, but much more expensive energy technologies in order to slow the rate of development and consumption in order for science to catch up and provide solutions that will balance the equation.

Sorry but people without slightest knowledge about science and metrology shouldn't have a voice in this debate.
Being an engineer myself, i know how ignorant people are, most people haven't payed attention during physicist class because it was "boring"[no they just wasn't smart enough to understand it] and yet, now they want to speak about science stuff.

Many world elitists would become bancrupt the day anything of this nature is allowed to enter the public domain. This would change the face if humanity in so many ways. I hope it become viable.

Nice try, but your first link is a video that does not mention Rossi's E-Cat.

The second is a link which tries to draw lines between NASA and Rossi, without succeeding.

The third is a link which demonstrates that Rossi did not demonstrate his claims and which shows precisely why NASA has not supported the E-Cat.

You are fooling yourself if you think this is significant material.

Little story for your enjoyment.

This is one of those heresay stories so take it for what it's worth.

I was out with friends this week, and the parents of a friend were sitting by me. Somehow we got on the conversation of their oldest son (they were in their seventies) that used to work for NASA, here in Pasadena.

Anyway, they wouldn't tell me much, although seemed like they would have liked to, but their son was working on some project outside of his day job, with some others, and it was going to be some wornderful thing for the world, ( I guessed some new energy and they more or less confirmed that guess). Anyway the new Security of our country came in and asked a lot of questions and shut them down. He lost his job, and was watched and followed for a time. I couldn't quite follow the whole story, but there was something more to it, like another group at JPL was working on something similar and they got shut down too.

Anyway, I think there's a lot we are not told, and a lot we don't know that's been discovered.

Ok, carry on.

No, it's not coming from nothing. If I understand the supposed process properly, neutrons are being freed from deuterium nuclei at low temperature through electrolysis. (Okay, maybe, why not? Lowest binding energy,)* These neutrons then glom onto more massive nuclei, forming isotopes that eventually decay, releasing energy. Distilling deuterium is an extremely energy intensive process. To fill the 50 ml beaker they perform the experiment in with "heavy water", they need to start with 150 liters of water. In effect, you are storing all the energy you put into the reaction's matrix in the form of exotic isotopes. Not only is no energy being created, the process is not scalable. The Navy and NASA are interested in the possibility because, despite it not being very cost effective, it might produce a smaller, lighter weight source of power compared to conventional fuel cells; useful on satellites and submarines, but don't expect one in your home.

So if we can turn nickel into copper, why can't we turn nickel or iron into... say... gold?

Also if nickel to copper = efficient energy, does copper to nickel require energy? Or does that give energy too?

Forget the E-Cat its ether a scam or way behind the curve.

The US NAVY is way ahead of even NASA. and they are not about to tell NASA all they have done.
the nave want the research money for there research labs.

www.lenr-canr.org...

The Navy at China Lake Labs started there research back in 1990.

search google "LENR CANR CHINA LAKE"

and in none of the videos did NASA say anything backing the E-CAT or that they believe its real.
all NASA said was they would like to see more open tests.
