Evidence That A Boeing 757 Really Did Impact the Pentagon on 9/11

I've decided the best way to do this is to state the evidence, and facts, and come to a conclusion. Everything I list here as evidence includes links to sources, names of individuals, and notes if I have added any comments or visual aids to any photos. I may repeat some information and images in this post (from images and information previously posted), and I apologize for the length of the information, and for the size of some of the photos, but I can see no other way to provide the information without losing clarity and quality and most importantly accuracy. It is apparent that without the entire collection of evidence people quickly forget something outlined on a previous post. I will freely admit in this post that I was incorrect on some facts in my previous posts, and I will correct these mistakes here. I will also try to link every image to its original source, unless it is an image I have added comments or visual aids to. Did a 757 hit the Pentagon on 9-11 First lets start with the factual information available on hand. The 757-200 As we can see from the freely available information for the Boeing 757 (from the Boeing website). The 757 is a midsized commercial airliner designed for short haul and medium haul routes (Medium Range Transport (MR-TR)), although since its release, and the subsequent discovery of the Wake Vortex it leaves behind the FAA has classified the 757 as a "Heavy" aircraft; the FAA places the 757 in the Geometric Design Classification IV, and an ATC Operation Class C. (source) The 757-200 dimensions: Tail Height: 44 ft 6 in (13.6m) Length: 155 ft 3 in (47.32m) Wingspan: 124 ft 10 in (38.05m) Body Exterior Width: 12 ft 4 in (3.7m) Fuel Capacity: 11,489 us gal (43,490l / 43,490kg) Maximum Takeoff weight: 255,000lb (115,680kg) Typical Cruise Speed: 0.80 Mach (573.6mph / 956kmh) Engines used on a 757: Two 166.4kN (37,400lb) Rolls-Royce RB211-535C turbofans, or 178.8kN (40,200lb) RB211-535E4s, or 193.5kN (43,500lb) RB211-535E4-Bs, or 162.8kN (36,600lb) Pratt & Whitney PW2037s, or two 178.4kN (40,100lb) PW2040s, or 189.5kN (42,600lb) PW2043s. (source1) (source2) Auxiliary Power Unit: Honeywell GTCP331-200 Click here to ->take a walk around inside a Boeing 757. left portion: source1 right portion: source2 (height and width notation to graphic added by me) Next, lets look at the Pentagon. The Pentagon The Pentagon was designed in the early 40's and was completed in only 16 months on Jan 14, 1943. The shortages of materials required for war production raised many design and construction problems. The use of reinforced concrete in lieu of formed steel for the building made possible a saving of 43,000 tons of steel, more than enough to build a battleship. The use of concrete ramps rather than elevators further reduced steel requirements. Drainage pipes were concrete; ducts were fiber, interior doors were wood. An unusual wall design - concrete spandrels carried to window sill level - eliminated many miles of through-wall copper flashing.(Source1) (Source2) Recent renovations and upgrades to the building were nearing completion on the side hit on 9-11 and performed reasonably well considering they were not designed to withstand aircraft impact. On September 11, when an American Airlines Boeing 757 crashed into the Pentagon, home of the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD), about 20,000 people were at work in this, the largest office building in the world. Yet according to the DoD casualty update on October 1, only 125 Pentagon employees were killed along with the 64 from the fated airliner. (source - Architecture Week)

Wow Cathearder, Outstanding research and your post is laid out perferct. You've convinced me a 757 hit the Pentagon, now you just have to convince me that someone who learned how to fly by Microsoft Flight Simulator managed to pull off such a precise hit. I believe the pilot did spend time in a professional flight simulator but theres two problems with that. 1. His instructor didn't have high marks for him. 2. He couldn't practice the approach to the Pentagon on the professional software as it would have really raised some flags. Again, outstanding job Cathearder, my other issues are for another thread, thanks for all your woek.

Great compilation of all the data! The problem is that speculation always rises when the government tries to hide information. When all the videos other than one have been confiscated and never released automatically allows questions to be raised.

Geez man, that must have taken quite a while to put together, but excellent job either way. Good movie and outline on the crash itself, it makes it real clear that this was a 757. You can make out that distinctive, almost Mickey Mouse face look to the cockpit quite clearly. Its also quite clear in the pictures of the holes that tube shape of the body had compressed some on impact making the fuselage wide at the sides. I can also attest to the fact that those are the rims off of a 757, I can even dig around in find a picture to match em. I hope I didn't put that bee in your bonnet to make you type all that up.

Actually, the post was from an ongoing work in the same thread where we were discussing the Detroit crash in (and we got sidetracked in lol). All I can say to add to this is I spent a few weeks trying to see if a 757 hit the Pentagon. What I arrived at, from all the facts, from all the photos, and from all the witnesses is - a missile did not, a Global Hawk did not, a 757 definitely did. As to why that 757 hit the Pentagon, or what were the driving forces behind it hitting the Pentagon that is entirely another matter for an entirely different discussion.
It's really interesting how people can gloss over an entire thread, without reading the important and fact containing posts, and still manage to offer up their opinions on the subject without doing any research for themselves. Anyone can have an opinion, it's how educated that opinion is that gives it value. [edit on 12-9-2004 by CatHerder]

I though it was a 767 what struck Pentagon but that doesn't mean a lot

The originator of this post of the 757 crashing into the pentagon deserves an honorary position on the Warren Commission. Like the Warren Commission report there will be a majority who will believe it hook, line and sinker until gradually the truth will begin to emerge...maybe 30 or 40 years from now.

What truth has emerged? A hollywood movie, a few books by skeptics?

Great post CatHerder...

only cars or light trucks have 14, 15 and 16 inch wheels. I think it's conservative to say that the part is 2 times as long as the truck's tire (36 inches).
Just a FYI, the 3/4 ton Chevy pickup ( from the pic looks like about the same year too ) I had had 16.5 inch tires...

A very well crafted argument indeed.. Ok, so a plane did hit the pentagon as it were told. Planes also hit the WTC. We have no way of knowing the degree of culpability of any governement elements, and we cannot assume that they were asleep or just allowed it to happen. Individual Ideas and theories about the 911 event will be all over the radar. However, there is a preponderous amount of compelling evidence that makes what our government told us not the whole truth to say the least.

You could try reading "Final Judgement" my Michael Collis Piper. If you don't agree that this is the definitive work on the Kennedy assassination then you don't very much about the Kennedy assassination.

I agree that an airliner hit the pentagon. There must be some good reasons why the DoD have not released the confiscated camera tapes and the black box.

An airliner hit the Pentagon? I was wondering if you knew where the 2 enormous RB-211's might have impacted?

My opinions 1. perhaps they were never consiscated, maybe this was a bit of "evidence" presented by a shoddy conspiracy site in an attempt to bolster the arguement of a government coverup. or 2. perhaps if there was video confiscated there was nothing noteworthy about it. Most of us have seen the video of the security cam by the pentagon. IMO the pentagon video is not conclusive at all ,its very grainy and the only thing that is absolutely discernable from it is that there was an explosion. Most security cams are trained on a limited area (ie doorways, parking lots, hallways, cash registers etc...) and usually aren't high enough resolution or fast enough fps to pick up a very fast moving airplane. At best you may see a blur much like the pentagon video.

For that bit of indepth research, you should get 20,000 pts.! Great post
Its a rarity to see this kind of research done on ATS. About half the people here are naysayers, and Im sure they will come out agianst you on this, but I WONT be one of them. Thank you for doing what I've been to lazy to do for some time!
