Argentina has been hit by a severe southern hemisphere summer sun prompting analysts to cut their crop forecasts and fuelling farmers' demands for tax cuts to help them get through the dry season.

I am not sure how severe this situation is, maybe some members from Argentina could bring more info. The "Disaster Map" (hisz.rsoe.hu...) points out a red code emergency , however no info is provided , just stating "complex emergency" . Is this caused by the drought?

Damn. Agriculture has been struck by too many natural disasters in the past year already. If the food never leaves the field it never gets on anybody's plate

Well, it is HOT down here, I can tell you that.

And yes, crops are going through a rough time right now, but still not as bad as it was in the 2008 drought.
This "La Niña" crap (counterpart to "El Niño") is getting really annoying.

But, don't worry, crops will be reduced this year, but it's not THAT bad, according to meteorological reports, around mid-late february things should start to improve.

Thanks!
