NASA administrator meets with Apollo Astronauts ,Agency Will Work Cooperatively to Resolve Artifact Ownership Issues , What issues are we thinking of ? raises questions if you ask me.

Are there still artifacts in their possession that we still know nothing about, maybe sensitive material? like photographs and stuff like that?

Washington -- The following is a statement from NASA Administrator Charles Bolden regarding the ownership of early space exploration mementos and artifacts: "Earlier today, I had a good meeting with former Apollo astronauts Jim Lovell, Gene Cernan, Charlie Duke, Rusty Schweickart and other representatives of former astronauts and agency personnel, where we discussed how to resolve the misunderstandings and ownership questions regarding flight mementos and other artifacts.

I don't really know how to interpret this kind of news but it clearly says Issues right?

Space memorabilia is valuable on the open market. People will pay good money for something that has been associated with spaceflight. The rules about what was NASA property were not always clear. For example, was the baseball cap Neil Armstrong wore on the aircraft carrier NASA property, or does Neal get to keep it? There have been some scandals lately as astronauts auctioned off personal items that NASA now considers theirs. There is nothing suspicious in this.

Last year there was an issue with NASA trying to get one of its cameras back that had been on the apollo 14 mission back from an astronaut. NASA is probably just clarifying to it's employees what they can and can't take home with them at the end of the day.

Today, it's being reported that NASA has saved another, slightly bigger Apollo artifact from being auctioned off: one of the cameras from the 1971 Apollo 14 mission. But how did such a bulky piece of hardware go missing in the first place? Well, it seems ex-astronaut Edgar Mitchell had something to do with that.

Yes they own nothing and should forfit all items in their belongings.

Why becasue we want to lock them up so nobady can analyze them and prove they are FAKE.

Yeah, like anyone would really keep and hold onto a memento for 25 years or more that's fake.

Wake up.
You fly to the moon or take a spin in orbit, you might want to hang onto some of the stuff you took with you and brought back.

You fake something, and none of that stuff is going to have any meaning, value, or worth to even want to hold onto for decades.

And the others artifacts you hold back, because they are fake right... why announcing this news? if we talk only about some baseball cap ? Think they don't talk about package of used condoms right ?

It's ridculous talking about fake equipment. The camera that Mitchell had was about to be auctioned by him, NASA stepped in and now the issue is in dispute simple as that. How far would a mechanical fake get at auction by experts, and if it was a fake Mitchell would know about it. It would also be his first line of defense, and say so if the suit against him does go to court.
