If porn becomes illegal, I'm predicting rape crimes will skyrocket. People will need to take their sexual frustration somewhere, it's not just gonna disappear.

Well let's hope if those type of crimes increase, it's those friggin politicians anyone supporting their lunatic ideas, that cop the 'blowback'!

I worry though that it's completely possible for them to make this law...only have to look at the similarities when they went after online gambling...

Pretty soon existing is going to be illeagal.

These liberty and freedom hating control freaks will one day make masterbation illegal, you just watch!!
Ohhh I hear ya now chuckling.

Oh it is not that far off. santorum would like to allow states to ban contraception. Motivation being his Catholic teachings...which also in the "every sperm is sacred" cannons believe masturbation to be a sin!

Slippery slope...if contraception is outlawed and the courts have to give reasoning...then masturbation is not far behind.

I can't wait to see what the definition of porn is.

If you think about it, this is so subjective as to be almost unworkable, what is okay for some e.g. "woman in a bikini" is porn to another.

I hope that these 3 stooges never get asked their views on Homosexuality!

I'm pretty sure that they'd want to outlaw that too

In that case, I hope they do get asked! The sooner they show their true colors, the sooner Ron Paul can get the nomination!

I remember somewhere on ATS that there was a banker`s charter from the 1800s which stated that banks should lend as much money at the highest interest rate for the shortest period meantime distracting the public with trivia to stop the public focussing on the bank`s behavior. No doubt the Presidential candidates and the media will continue to distract the public.

Gerald Celente tries to help us focus on banks and not the trivia of porn availability

Its been discovered that Internet Use Affects Memory, Study Finds

Unfortunately, heavy internet use makes me forget what nude women look like. So, I have to look it up - often several times a day.

That is too funny!

This has got to go...there is no way they can take away my porn...they may be able to take away my internet access to porn...but what are they going to do about the 10's of thousands of hours of porn I have recorded?

It will be an all out riot...another civil war...long live porn in the U.S.!

I guess that we will have to revist Larry Flynn vs the US then.

After all that set the standards as to what was considered obscene and what was considered legal in the USA.

I will defend my right to watch porn to the death, and will participate in any war. What? War with Iran is more likely? Tell that to someone without a boner.

All dumb jokes aside, how do these three even find the time to comment on a subject like this? Are you kidding me? In the last 6 months we have had massive protests, distaste in the Government, distaste with our President, possible War with other Countries, possible economic meltdown, possible increase of natural disasters and these three geniuses that should run the US are talking about porn? If that doesn't piss you off then it means that you support these lazy politicians and have no problem with them setting actual dangers aside and talking about how important it is for porn to be illegal, because then it would end all the Wars?

Wouldn't shutting down porn sites make a lot of cops that probably spend half their days browsing porn, extrememly irritable & angry, with the end result being the public taking the brunt of it?

Don't need to see more angry cops abusing people and raping women, due to their porn addictions not being satisfied!

Most important ancient cultures considered porn as an artistic expression at least.

The Kama Sutra (Sanskrit: कामसूत्र pronounciation (help·info), Kāmasūtra) is an ancient Indian Hindu[1][2] text widely considered to be the standard work on human sexual behavior in Sanskrit literature written by Vātsyāyana.

If they do get hard on porn, they may actually lose some of their own conservative base

Porn in the USA: Conservatives are biggest consumers

However, there are some trends to be seen in the data. Those states that do consume the most porn tend to be more conservative and religious than states with lower levels of consumption, the study finds.

Church-goers bought less online porn on Sundays – a 1% increase in a postal code's religious attendance was associated with a 0.1% drop in subscriptions that day. However, expenditures on other days of the week brought them in line with the rest of the country, Edelman finds.

Residents of 27 states that passed laws banning gay marriages boasted 11% more porn subscribers than states that don't explicitly restrict gay marriage.

States where a majority of residents agreed with the statement "I have old-fashioned values about family and marriage," bought 3.6 more subscriptions per thousand people than states where a majority disagreed.

Haha, good luck guys and expect to see you're numbers plummet. Oh sure you'll get the worried mothers vote and evangelist vote but you're killing the average American vote and young vote.

So what if they get in will we expect a war on porn now? Because that war on drugs worked out, hows the war on terror going?

EDIT: I see this as a more vaild option to the problem if there even exist one.

*sigh what is wrong with these people, personaly I don't watch porn, but this would force the industry to go underground, and end up as a big revenue and a bigger police budget.

Seriously banning sex, alcohol or tobacco prevents nothing, it just causes more problems. these idiots need to look back through history to see this.

oh and arnt these guys running for the presidency, this should be a state mater. its none of their business and what do they think is the issue with this anyway.

put the $$s towards child porn and the mistreatment of children instead. and get the poor accommodation and build jobs and for goodness sake buy a few street sweepers, clean up the poorer community's and community gardens and for god sake add nature strips and give the unemployed and those who want to fill a few hours of their day into maintaining them. Pay them or have the unemployed contribute. just because these people are unemployed or living of the system and are handicapped doesn't mean they are useless and do not want to contribute to their community and the future lifestyle of their children.

sorry for the rant, but by crikey politicians are stupid.

love and harmony

So now we know which politicians are truly wankers over there...

I must say, at least our pollies here (Oz) are'nt that stupid (or smart :puz
, they'd have a civil riot in thier hands, and i'd be at the lead..

I have "western society" figured out (yes, including us Aussies..).. it's just plain ignorance... "if i don't notice it, it will go away", or "If i don't see it, it won't affect me",

You can only ram so much down a persons throat before they choke to death! And Western Civ folks would rather choke than wake up, it's easier... Go figure...
