Not so sure about that. See my post about 3 up from yours. This is exactly how the Federal Gov't works. They're not interested in private industry. Only their industry.

On a serious note, taking away something due to 'morals' and 'beliefs' when it is doing no real harm is just f****g ridiculous.
Plus is there not an argument to say that this would increase sex crimes? Certain people that currently have 'needs' met by porn would no longer be able to get it easily.... Are they not then more likely to go out and fulfill and hard fantasies in other ways.

Internet Pornography Statistics
The amount of pornography on the internet can be difficult to fathom. A total of 4.2 million websites contain pornography. That is 12 percent of the total number of websites. There are 100,000 websites that offer pornography.

If they got their way an eighth (1/8) of the internet would be shut down. Thats a lot of money disappearing in 1 second.

I agree. The porn industry will never be shut down.

Based on the comments, its easy to tell who grew up in a house where sex was considered bad, nasty, smut and perverse. Likewise, you can also tell based on the comments who was raised in a house where sex was looked at in a positive light.

The porn industries constitutes a billion + dollars. It is a large tier industry that supports a large amount of people. Porn is what it is. It is sex on film. You can say what you want about it based on your thoughts and feelings but in the end it is sex on film.

It is not going away. No POTUS will be able to regulate it or dispose of it.

I can't stand the mid-west bible thumping moral majority who think they are all going to save our souls.

It feels like a stunt to see how the people would react to such absurdness, from a politician nonetheless.

...but I do feel the sudden urge to make loads of backups of the 'collection'

Maybe I can trade them one day for Carbon credits or some equally ridiculous currency.
Oh my, if porn became illegal, I could potentially become uber wealthy from my forward thinking prowess!!

Yup~ Time to make some backups...some...'hard' backups
hyuk hyuk hyuk

Ban pornography? What an amusing idea.

Hm, let's see... What happens when you criminalize anything?

Oh, yes, that's right - you put more power into the hands of criminals and make the problem even worse than it was before. (That's not to say I think there's a problem with pornography.)

Swell idea, guys! I'm sure your popularity ratings just went through the roof!

Sure they would. Cause they would be able to replace it with a multi-billion dollar enforcement agency under their control and staffed/operated by their friends and chosen minions on the taxpayers' dime. War on terror, check. War on drugs, check. War on illegals, check. War on porn, check.

"Everything is a business model." - George Ure

The porn industry is worth billions of dollars of revenue for the Governments coffers.
How is shutting that down going to be financially viable when the country is in what is it now... 8 trillion dollars of debt?
All any thing comes down to at the end of the day is the green stuff.

Proof that although they all steal plays from Ron Paul's book, none of them truly understand it. They are still playing politics from 50 or 75 years ago. They are completely out of touch with why the Tea Party had so much success in 2010, and why Ron Paul is so popular now, and why OWS got so popular so fast.

Those 3 have no idea what the population wants.

All the while, Obama's wife is appearing on Icarly, and he is tweeting pics of his dog, and posting his March Madness bracket pics.

Those old, stiff, white, religious freak Republicans have no chance in hell at beating Obama, but Ron Paul does!!! If the GOP wants to win, they will nominate Paul. If they want to be severely whooped and embarrassed by Obama, they will pick another good ol' religious white boy like they have done for centuries.

And the ironic thing, is Paul is devoutly religious!!! Probably more so than the other 3! Definitely moreso than Newt!

Paul can carry that religious conservative vote, as well as the Tea Party Conservative vote, and as well as the pop-culture young vote!

Why are folks so blind?

it would kill the economy as people would cut back on internet usage since they wouldnt need as fast or as much monthly bandwidth allowance then theres how to define porn as theres a fetish for nearly everything so nearly everything could be classed as porn technically

if they do make it legal all someone needs to do is declare that viewing politicians is a fetish so to stop people having those thoughts you'd have to ban politicians...oh the joy

They've been discussing the idea of banning some types of contraception too.
I wonder which one of these ridiculous ideas they thought of first.
www.lifesitenews.com...

If they managed to ban birth control, having porn around, it would be impossible to abstain, which is the method of birth control that a couple of the republicans seem to prefer.

Now all they have to do is to ban masturbation completely, and we'll have some really really really bitchy men out there, ready for war.

Some of these politicians just cannot seem to stay out of people's bedrooms, or where ever else people like to do it.

Well it was the government who made it legal in the first place to dumb us down and sexualise everything.
Hence why we have so many problems these days with sex, unwanted children and disease.

The 3 of them are only playing to the conservatives, whom believed in only hypocrisy - white in front but stained dark inside where they thought no is watching. That's the true conservatives for you. It had been such for centuries since civilisation began.

I am all for a END to the porn industry. It belittles and demean womanhood, espacially, when most them had been forced or enticed unconscionably into it. We all came from women, without them, none of us would exists. Womanhood do deserves and must be respected.

But we must be realistic. We humans need money to live, and often, money calls the shot. Many humans - male or female would NEVER have sought to sell the bodies if they don't have to. It is only the fastest way to earn a few bucks than to starve on the streets. Not many are that strong in face of adversity of life.

Thus, the root of this social problem lays not in just banning porn, but a true and pragmatic action plan to boost the economy, give opportunities for all, so that they may not be forced or enticed into vices.

But that's not what the 3 bas*ards are doing. Banning porn is an easy escape and gain votes, but had they resolve the root of the problem? None. Only further posturing to gain hypocratic votes. It is NOT porn that they should be targetting, but the economy.

Thailand had long been known as a vice capital. But today, the change had began. Legislations to protect minority ages to prevent them from being sold. Wealth distributed. Trainning courses in economic jobs began. It may be slow, but change is on the horizon, and Thailand will lead the way.

It is sad to see the state of women in China with wealth gap too far. But change must come.

As for the western world, there is absolutely no reason for porn to NOT be eradicated, or at least minimise to only those whom are not forced or with opportunities in life to choose. The western world is fully educated to CREATE opportunities, but only that....the leaders and the conservatives are full of hypocrisy BS. They dont know how those women suffered, nor want to know to alleviate their sufferings. Bas*ards! Bas*tards! All three of them!

This isn’t trying to get into your personal sex life, if you want to have a get together with who ever fine, it just wants to remove something that is not morally sound from the block.

If you had a crack house on your block you would be all up in their business trying to get it shut down and removed, would'nt you? Ok same thing here!

Apples and Oranges. Crack kills it's users. Porn usually does not. Also I have never known anyone who would rob or kill to feed their porn addiction.

All porn stars have an option to say no.
I have yet to see a legitimate porn movie be made while a gun was pointed to the actresses head.

If you don't like porn.
You have the freedom to not to watch it.

However don't take away my right to watch it.

I'll say one thing, and that is that if porn were made illegal, the number of divorces in this country would skyrocket, due to infidelity.

Men are visual. They fantasize. It's part of their genetic makeup. Like it or not, access to porn is what keeps many men, and women as well from infidelity. Porn is an outlet for many, men and women, which keeps them from looking elsewhere, and therefor keeping marriages intact.

More than 50% of married couples have admitted to infidelity from one partner, whether that partner knows or not. Multiple surveys show this. And that is with access to porn. Sorry, I wish it were different, but no porn means more cheating. It means instead of living out your fantasies, which every blood pumping male has, whether they admit it or not, in front of your tv or computer or a magazine, you'll instead see more men seeking to live out those same fantasies with another human in real life.

The ugly truth. You can criticize men all you like about that, but it's never changed since the dawn of man. Men have always fantasized about other women. Many learn to ignore it, compartmentalize it, or get by with the assistance of porn, and stay faithful to their spouse. But more men, and women, will stray without the visual aid pornography provides. Sexuality is at the basis of every human mind.
