Thanks for the quotes, I believe in Jesus too. The catholic church had been twisting the meaning of the Bible to their convenience for centuries, historical references are undeniable. My heart rejects vatican and loves Jesus. In the time of Peter the church probably was on a good path, but something happened later when leaders found out the church was profitable. It doesn't mean all catholics are wrong or bad neither, but the good catholics doesn't control vatican.

If this was such a threat to Humanity as we know it, and God has acted on all other 'threats on humanity', such as Sodom and Gomorrah, The Great Flood, the Tower of Babel, etc....

Where the hell is he now? If 'God' really did care about the GLBT community, and thought that it was threatening his people, don't you think we would have gotten a lightning bolt to the forehead? Or maybe a meteor?

It drives me to anger hearing ignorance and biased views from people who have so much power within society!

Overpopulation is one of the biggest issues earth faces today and every other issue is a byproduct of this factor! Anyone can fathom that gay marriage and individuals don't have a tendency to reproduce... Anyone with primary education in biology will know why not!

If it is a homophobic issue then my argument is, homosexuality occurs within the animal kingdom and is a natural behavioral display of affection towards fellow species. Bonobo's are known for their sexual diversity!

Its everywhere. Gay pride this and gay pride that. Gay pride flags flying in areas of Phoenix Arizona where there are no gays at all. They are trying to take over and they are trying to push their beliefs on the straight folks. Its just as bad as trying to push religion on someone. Im not gay and I will not for one second accept this gay pride mess on principle alone.

Gay sex and gay marriage should be a crime as far as im concerned.

So go be gay in private and stop pushing and flaunting your disgusting beliefs around people that are straight.

I am quite aware that what I am about to say will provoke fury in the gay community.
So, in advance, I would ask that it not be taken as an attack on the personal level (wishful thinking?).

For several years now, I have volunteered as a shelter worker for homeless men.
A very high percentage of our regular guests, those having been transient for long periods of time, were, in their youth, victims of sexual abuse. In fact, studies have shown that an EXTREMELY STRONG correlation exists between homelessness and a history of sexual abuse.

These men, whom I serve, are indeed the epitome of lost souls. The majority of them have completely withdrawn from society; they are distrustful of authority figures; suspicious of people's motives in general; they engage is highly risky and self-destructive behaviour; they have lost most if not all their ambition and self-esteem. It is as if they haved exiled themselves forever in a self-imposed protectorate: isolationism is their sanctuary. These men are incapable of forming and maintaining relationships. Abuse has resulted in their utter emasculation.

If we are to be completely honest with ourselves as a society, research demonstrates that the roots of homosexuality lie in:

a) children having been raised in homes lacking the presence of a strong father figure;
b) children and teens having been the victims sexual abuse committed by a (usually trusted) older male;
c) children having been raised in a household composed of two gay parents

Our attitudes today regarding homosexuality have for the most part been shaped by acceptance of Alfred Kinsey's studies on human sexuality in the 1940s and 1950s. Kinsey proposed the notion of a Heterosexual-Homosexual Rating Scale, suggesting that no one is exclusively homosexual or heterosexual but instead a person's sexuality lies somewhere in between. It is not surprising to discover an inherent bias in Kinsey's work considering the man himself was a prolific bisexual.

Before the pro-gay contingent screams bloody murder claiming (once again) that homosexuality does not equate pedophilia, I would ask those who call themselves, "gay" to objectively calculate how many in their community are the products of single-parent homes and/or survivors of sexual abuse. Are there more incidents than what is statistically probable?

As a reminder, I personally bear no ill will toward homosexuals. It is just my belief that becoming, "gay", is simply a coping mechanism employed by those who had been deprived of strong father figures during their childhood or by those, like our homeless friends, who had been unfortunate victims of sexual abuse while in their formative years.

One does not "become" gay, one is born gay!
Prove your point, how many families do you know, with multiple children, all of whom are gay?
If your theory re strong father figure is correct then if there is one gay child in a family all the children in that family MUST be gay!

It is a well-known fact that most women involved in prostitution and pornography were sexually abused as children. This may seem paradoxical until one understands the rationale behind the Stockholm Syndrome.
I'm saying that a large percentage of men who had been abused by an older male, in order to cope with the trauma; to justify actions; to lessen the cognitive dissonance, essentially BECAME their abusers. The remaining percentage of victims end up traumatized for life, leading a seemingly meaningless and self-destructive existence.

This is ridiculous. I don't appoint this man to speak for me and my faith and I'm sure many will agree. Christianity doesn't mean unity across the board. We each have different views and aspirations.

My opinion is that the pope is an idiot and any person who thinks he is holy is an idiot as well. What gives him the right to stand in front of a big crowd and say what God wants of the people? What gives bishops the right to gather behind closed doors and push these rules on Christians when they harbour evil in the Vatican?

Just as many victims of childhood physical (not sexual) abuse repeat the behaviour by beating their own children, a number of (not all) victims of sexual abuse take on the traits of their abusers. Becoming the enemy is one place to hide from the anguish of having to deal with having been abused.
