I didn't know that it was frowned upon to use colorful language when posting a headline, clearly it wasn't meant to be taken seriously.

Great video OP, I hadn't come across this one yet in my YouTube prowling of RP videos. Another great one to add to the arsenal

AAARRRGH!!

I am TRYING to like Ron Paul, and you guys keep getting in the way. WOULD YOU STOP IT!!!!!

My apologies. Normally I am far more polite and restrained, something must have come over me. I'm better now.

"Clearly?" "Clearly?????" Wait a minute, I have to calm down again.

This thread is a duplicate of one entitled "Political Prophets: The Truth Confined." That title was meant to be taken seriously, as you'll see if you read the OP. From "Prophet" to "God" is a short step as pointed out above.

From the OP:
Ron Paul is beyond just being a good politician, the man is not just another cunning politician, he reaches into the depths of wisdom and brings out the truth many have tried to confine for years.
"Beyond being a good politician." "Reaches into the depths of wisdom." I haven't heard anything like this since Obama's 2008 campaign.

As a poster wrote:
Paul is by far the wiset and most logical canidate, what he has or has not done I'm sure has good reason.
Can you hear yourselves? This is more like the irrational love for a family member or for a religion, than political campaign support.

I really don't know enough about the candidates to decide yet. I wasn't planning on getting involved until the summer. I know I would vote for Paul over Obama. But if I went around saying "I'm a Ron Paul supporter," how can I respond when a person got a little fear in their eye, backed away like I was a Jehovah's Witness, and said "Oh, you're one of those people?"

I find it odd that you don't simply look at his positions when deciding if you like him or not.

What his supporters do or say seems entirely irrelevant to me.

If Obama was anti-war, anti-fed, anti-bailouts, and actually upheld all of his previous civil rights rhetoric, I would like him even though his supporters are mostly communists, socialists democrats, or other subversives.

Dear mnemeth1,

Thank you for speaking calmly to me as I go through my moment of emotional crisis.

To some extent my feelings are reasonable, but not rational. I will have a difficult time putting my thoughts down logically, so please be patient.

I have not decided whether I like Paul or not, as I mentioned, I am waiting another six months before I start studying the (remaining) candidates and their positions.

For whatever reason, his supporters do have an effect on me. Take an extreme example. If the violent anarchists got together (I know, oxymoron) and supported a candidate, I would have two problems. One, why doesn't the candidate try to tone them down, and two, what is it about the candidate that attracts those kinds of people?

Examining a candidate's positions only gets me so far. The difference between those positions and what actually happens is vast. I'm not saying that Ron Paul is lying, it's just that the office seems to change people. And if Obama claims he is having trouble with Congress, would Paul be any different? I saw that he has authored 421 bills in his career and only 1 has been enacted. He doesn't seem particularly gifted in "getting along with others."

So, in addition to his stated positions, I'll be trying to get more information from other sources. If his supporters seem to largely fit in one mold, that will be information I'll use as well.

With respect,
Charles1952

Ever think it was off topic due to the title?? It makes no sense, now if it was a different title than it could be placed in politicians and people or prophets perhaps?
