its true they move often; the earth has a wobble like a toy spinning top that wobbles as it loses inertia. but I think it does effect nature if we go through a big wobble. All the migrating animals dying off happened right about the time we had a significant shift. When a big enough shift happens airports have to close down and repaint their airstrips and migrating animals that use the earth's magnetic field to navigate during migration periods die.

I'm not saying it wouldn't have effects if the magnetic pole moved rapidly but when people think of a doomsday scenario, particularly 2012, they have something more in mind than dying birds and repainted airports. It's true that such magnetic shifts could cause problems if it happened very quickly but they would be far from the end of the world scenario described by most 2012 proponents.
