Actually there were those of us that had a third view. I kept pointing out that if you defend Bush when he does it, eventually a Democrat will be in that office with that precedent set for him and the Republicans will have no recourse whatsoever other than to whine about it on internet forums.

I would love to know what I got wrong.

You're right, there is hypocrisy on both sides. But simply pointing out hypocricy is enough to get you labeled partisan. When the next republican is in office, and does the same thing, (although there is question as to the legitimacy of this "recess") then I will be right there accusing them as well.

That makes no sense. I say it was a recess as well. It is the Republicans and the righties in this thread...

Since I have been the only one in the thread with the stance that the Senate was in fact in session (adjourning for the day -- or even a small period of time, say between January 4th and 5th does not constitute a recess in my opinion and the opinion of a lot of legal minds; including Justice Kegan) my guess is that little quip was mainly aimed at me.

Though I would hardly call myself a "righty" or even prescribe to the "Republican (party)" ideals and false principles. Just as much as I would hardly call myself a lefty or take in the passion of the Democratic party.

I questioned not the process of recess appointment (it is after all a Constitutionally enumerated power of the President), but rather the means in which the current president has taken to utilize that power. I could care less if it were Obama, Bush or any other man or woman. I express my inherent political power to questioning the actions of my government.

While I am no fan of Mr. Obama, I have to say that this days congress is too busy and inebriated with so much addiction to Wall Street gambling with inside trading that they have lost the ability to work for the American people anymore, the pimps in Wall street are the ones that have been appointing members of the government for years thanks of the briberies been paid to congress, this one is going to be very interesting to see, when a President by pass the addicts in Congress and disregard their authority.

I which the American people will hurry up and wake up and see that we in America do not have a government anymore, is all fake and a joke.

My fear is that the executive branch has taken the opinion of Marge6043, just above this post.

Obama seems to be polishing Marge6043's opinion into the belief that since Congress isn't doing what he wnts them to do, according to his schedule, Congress should be abandoned and ignored.

This particular set of appointments is far more flagrant than the ones in recent history. Obama seems to be shouting "You can't touch me. I can do what I want." I agree that recess appointments are legitimate, but not these.

I am of the opinion by years of been a voter (since 78) that no matter what whore is elected into government is already been bought and paid for by the pimps in wall street and corporate America

Next time anybody wants to know who runs America just look at who pay the highest briberies to our whores in congress.

Also go no farther than the appointees of every president, (majority Goldman Sach alumni)

No even our Presidents are (selected and elected) by the people anymore, I call the candidates "recycle trash" because they seem to pop every election year as the same by the same elite parties.

If you have not gotten this already then you could be a late bloomer.

America is a corporate dictatorship run by the Federal Reserve elite and Walls street.

Dear marge6043,

I'm very sorry for creating the wrong impression through my carelessness. The point I was trying to make was that by removing Congress from the equation, Obama was closer to setting up an uncontrolled, one man rule.

Yeah, I probably am a late bloomer, but I still think that some politicians can break free of corporate or union influense.

With respect,
Charles1952

And this is something that should be noted marg. It is also why I wonder why people are basically telling me through here to drop it; the president had to do it, Congress this and Senate that, why does it matter?, etc.

If we just accept the picture you painted above (and quite an accurate one at that) than yes -- we have truly lost our self-governance and now reside solely as a revenue source for the "pimps" in Congress. Sad state it is.

I bet when all is said and done, once all the crazies are
eliminated as sources for this story, we will find it was
not questionable at all.

It's at the point where if he coughs,
it was actually a socialist code word to bring
about armageddon, but only for white folks..

Sorry if I misunderstood you.

Sadly, as long as is interest money running in the halls of congress and behind the presidential seat, is not way out for any politician, the rule is you with us or against us, may I say one of Bush well known phrase will be his best ever.

Don't trust any politician in the US they have not been for the people for decades.

Obama actions to select the recent appointees without congress is not different that what any other president has done before him.

This days you can pretty much tell how politics have denigrated when politicians are not respecting each other anymore.

Even big interest wag wars against each other when they can not bet on waging wars of interest around the world, specially in the middle east, so the gamblers have to create something to entertain themselves here at home.

The president is no doing anything that he is not been asked to do.

What a joke.

Is about to get worst, as the years goes by and the our once great government starts to deteriorate because interest interfering on governance.

The global economy is very much at the brink of something big going down, a lot of people doesn't know that the struggles in the EU zone has a lot to do with the great US Federal Reserve behind the IMF.

Right now the peoples entitlement programs, SS, retirement pensions and personal investments are nothing but an illusion of promise while the gamblers behind hedge funds are gambling nations wealth away while borrowing against each other to cover up the shortcomings.

I posted a very nice entry in the market data thread about this new gambling game going on affecting the global economy.

Very interesting to read and should make anybody that think their future is secure very angry.

Ah but I ask -- what "crazies" did I utilize for my sources? I haven't even mentioned a "socialist" agenda or that he did this "to bring about armageddon(sic)".

I guess now it is fruitless to maintain a watchful eye upon the Government in which we agree to represent and govern and just allow them to do what they wish. Republican, Democrat, Ron Paul or Barak Obama; I can care less who is there and I will continue to examine their practices and question their actions with great scrutiny.

If that means I get painted in a certain light -- so be it.
