We are watching the destruction of an empire. All empires must go away sometime. They are natural things. And nature puts a time bomb in everything she creates.

The U.S. empire is doomed. Just like all the others that went before it. It is doomed by nature herself — condemned by the gods to blow up and die.

None of this should be surprising. We’ve seen this movie before. Hundreds of empires have come and gone. We know how this movie ends. More or less.

What we know for sure is that the U.S. is going broke. There is hardly any other plausible outcome. We’ve gone over the numbers so often we don’t need to repeat them.

Yes, it is true that the feds could still save themselves if they had the will. They could cut taxes to a flat 10% and spend only what they raised in tax revenue. That would do the trick from an economic point of view.

But it’s too late for that politically. Empires have lives of their own. They go forward…expanding…spending…stretching…until, boom, they go too far. Empires do not back up. Some merely go bankrupt. Others are defeated in war. All end disastrously.

Only one presidential candidate favors rescuing the nation’s finances and pulling the empire back from disaster. Ron Paul. He is considered such an unelectable kook that the newspapers barely mention him. And the papers are right. He is unelectable. Because he is opposed by the zombies.

We have explained how government really works. It is barbarism in action. Powerful insiders use force — police and military force — to transfer wealth and status to themselves. In the process, they turn their clients…and themselves…into parasitic zombies. The zombies support the insiders. The insiders throw the zombies a bone or two. Together they corrupt and destroy the empire.

it's a moot point anyways. the republicans won't let him on the ballot. unless he starts off on a nuke iran and israel is america's bff (best friend forever) platform.

which seems to be the only points contested on the republican debates.

unless you consider romney, a.k.a the job fairy, who will wave his magic wand and create untold numbers of jobs, because, according to him, he's the only one who knows how because he is a businessman.

unfortunately, it's not the president who creates jobs, it's people. people who provide goods and services to other people.

since everyones broke because of the way the government spends, and successful businessmen like himself are hoarding billons and billions of dollars in bank accounts, doing absolutely nothing except accumulating interest and making rich hoarders richer, believes the crock of sh-t that comes out of his mouth, he'll be the nominee.

plus with the usual republican strategy of voter fraud, high lighted with bush's 2000 victory, he's a sure bet.

I love Ron Paul so much, but I have doubts that he will actually be elected, and I have doubts that he will be able to save this thing. There is just too much inertia

I have to agree and disagree with the comment, the only responsibility the government has for you and I being broke is by allowing 38 million illegal immigrants to reside in our country. That's a whole lot of people to compete with on the lower level jobs. And the lower level jobs weren't seen as that 15 years ago. i.e. Landscaper, construction worker, household servant, nanny, etc. Those use to be lucrative jobs for American citizens.
As for blaming banks for the foreclosure, they are partially to blame. They ok'd the loans, but it is up to the consumer to accept a $300,000 making only $75,000 a year combined. Us Americans need to take responsibility for this to, the foreclosed homes are unfortunate, but those owners were in the room with lawyers and bankers signing the agreement.
The bizarre part is that with illegal immigration and outsourcing is that we are harboring people from these countries that are making our products which is both killing our economy.
