I know it wouldn't stop the US, but wouldn't it be technically illegal for them to cause a ruckus, when Iran is following the law? The guy was given a trial, and although I wouldn't wish death on anyone, he has obviously gone through some sort of trial and been found guilty through Iranian law?

The US is lying on this one. 20 Year old ex Marine? He must be 18 to join the Marines. And to enlist you must join for a minimum of 3 years. He could not be a ex Marine until he was 21 years old.

ON TOPIC - Iran makes up these spy stories every so often in a script that reads like the book 1984. Gotta keep the people afraid of the boogy man. Ya'll - read this story ... kinda gets right to the heart of the problem with Iran and all these alleged 'spies' that they 'catch'. Carefully read the last sentence.

Yep .. the totalitarian government of Iran goes around arresting whoever they want and then slapping a 'spy' charge on them. Then the people aren't heard from every again and no information is released. 1984.

iran is known to have a sizeable jewish community.

there are at least a 12 countries that are operating covert spies in america. maybe more. do you think every single chinese or russian in america is legit.

it could be propaganda, and the guy was sentenced to death for something totally unrelated. but i doubt iran just picked a random guy off the street and sentenced him to death, when their prisons are full of rapists and murderers.

The New York Times says he's 28. Not 20.
That's plenty of time for a three year hitch after turning 18.

I seen a news clip I swore they said 20. But looking up more sources it is 28.

What if the Story is a complete FABRICATION spread all over the globe by REUTERS & ASSOCIATED PRESS ?
