2012: a new begining for Humanity after the end of the present long Cosmic Cycle

Happy New 2012 terrestrial year, and also Happy new galactic year!

This 2012 will be the end of one cycle of about 25000 terrestrial years that our solar system takes to complete it orbit around the center of the Milky way, we are going to have in November and December the so rare aligment of our Sun with the Center of the Galaxy in the Sign of Ophiucus.

But what facts are waiting for us in this very extraordinary Year:

I see that economy will show again a very erratic performance along the months ahead, sometimes showing improving, sometimes not, but in general the trends will not motivate the investors, to the contrary will underline the impression of great risks.

We will see a great series of social turmoil occurring in England, Spain, Italy, France and England, showing that there is too much people feeling that there is no hope, no future for the youths on the present global economic model.

Russia will enter in a grave political crisis, a clear confrontation in between the opposition and the government, something that will carry violent acts in important cities and possibly a collapse of the institutions if Putin insist on his plans to remain in the power.

Im afraid that Mr Putin might be pushing with his personal ambitions of power the things to a point of no return, and even his personal security will be a so serious risk.

We could see another Socialist President arriving to the power in France, the first after Mitterand, that will propose new economical schemes for the European Union, that of course would do a turn of 180 degrees in many aspects, abandoning gradually the globalization model that we have until now.

The economic recession will arrive to China and other Fareast economies, and it will be with great momentum, a lot of important companies will be hit by the illiquidity, and the banks in that part of the world will also suffer a series of collapses, some of them impacting their partners in USA and in Europe.

The Campaign on USA will be interesting, the republicans will work a lot to prevent the reelection of Obama and certainly they will gain a lot of supporters, however, internal divisions could drive the electors to vote extremely divided for more than one strong opposition candidate and that will favor Obama intentions to remain in power. The most positive side of the incoming election is that it could be the end of the bipartite system and the beginning of a three-party one, a new political force in the center of the spectrum will appear and evolve very rapidly.

Mexico will have a really very tense and stressful political campaign, very moved in all aspects, also can experience acts of violence, and the final result could put in the power to whom now looks to be the least expected, I feel that the country is one of the most potentially instable, high volatility in all senses: Social, economic and political.

Venezuela will see for first time in almost 15 years the real possibility to overcome the Chavist regime, the opposition finally will find the way to motivate millions of undecided voters to make a political change that was unreachable in the last decade.

Greece will finally exploide in a series of uncontrolable riots, there is going to be what it was longly predicted: the first of a series of european social revolutions against the dictations of the global market economy, the common people will show to the world what the power of the masses can do when there is no more effective leadership inthe world.

2012 will be a year of big natural disasters, earthquakes occurring in dense populated areas of the world, also powerful storms, tornados and hurricanes. I can see at least one major natural event affecting the coasts of the United States in this year, I have the impression that will be in the second semester of the year and will be very destructive.

Many signals in the sky will be checked all around the world, there will be clear evidences of visitors of other dimensions, and the UFO phenomenon will have on 2012 one of the most active years ever recorded. We could experience one of the most close encounters with other kinds of life at the end of the Year, manifestations of great external power coming to our planet, many people will be talking of a second coming of Christ or the arrival of the Messiah, this carry up a great revival of religious spirit around the world.


One thing is sure, by 2013 we will have a so different international overview than the one we have had until present, with many leaders, that are still ruling, removed of the power either through means of revolution, defeated in elections , assasesinated or by illness.

This will be the end of the public life of relevant figures that we have been accostumed to see for long time: Fidel Castro, Hugo Chavez, Mrs Krishner, Hosni Mubbarak, President Sarkozy and Phillipe , the Duke of Edimburg.

I am not sure of your predictions and remain an open mind.
What interested me to respond is that you mention the constellation of Ophusius which lays between Gemini and Tuarus towards Orion - Ophusius (not sure of spelling) was in ancient times recognised as one of 13 zodiac signs.
Today it is not considered as it lays below the ecliptic - sorry to sound so techy which I am not really.
Ophusius will be in opposition to Aquarius where the Sun shall be seen to rise in 2012.

i would certainly love to be half as optimistic but i fear as the year progresses the only prophecy i can make with any certainty is that i will seclude myself, stock up on supplies and ammunition in order to protect my family from the crazies who actually believe that this is the end, either way 2012 will most certainly be an interesting year. here's to those who make it through unscaved and unharmed. cheers.

Thanks a lot for the replies to this thread, I think it was time to open one space of discussion of all the different predictions that 2012 is carrying on, but one that has more objectivity, since there is a lot of drama created around different interpretations of the lost book of Nostradamus, or the Maya prophecy.

There is too much marketing in all these trends, like it happened when we were in the transition in between 1999 and 2000. Many authors are trying to profit irresponsibly, as I can see, spreading panic in the people, when nothing really shows that Nostradamus has predicted the end of the world for this year, in fact he has predicted it for the 39 century of our era.

Now, it is of course certainly expect-able to have a lot of drastic changes in the following two years although I hardly be able to predict something like the end of the world coming soon. I think we are experiencing the consequences of the overpopulation of the world but my hope, of course as a scientist and engineer, is that the new technology will provide the means to support the big number of members of our specie.

I am sensible to the damage all this demographic explosion is causing to the planet, but I remain optimistic that there is a so serious work in laboratories, Universities and industries trying to develop the necessary infrastructure that will allow in some relatively short period of time to go ahead in the conquer of two major new frontiers that can provide the resources we need to survive:

- The bottom of the oceans that can be a new home for millions of human beings, with their incredible reservoir of food, energy, and minerals.

- The return to the space to populate other worlds, possibly building cities in the moon or in mars where entirely new worlds could be recreated using biotechnology.

I think there is a great temptation to become in these days of global crisis one of the many apocalyptic prophets that we are so accustomed to find in the sensationalist media , but I still have confidence in what science and technology can do and also in that our specie is in essence a good one, the human spirit is from my point of view primarily noble and if we have committed big mistakes in the past I believe is due to lack of better resources to affront the challenges of the expansion of our civilization.

I think the close encounter we are going to experience this year, and that is also clearly predicted to happen by many very well known seers of the past, Nostradamus among them, is going to show us the path to follow toward our salvation as specie and also as ecosystem.

Did you know there have been 200.000 of the 'galactic cycles' since the earth has been in existence (approximately 5 billion years). Has anything changed in these cycles?

Well there has been the emergence of life but the governing laws of the universe haven't changed.

I don't really know where I'm going with this post, just pondering I guess.

I am trying to find a consistent answer to your question but the only one I can give you is entirely practical:

I have been posted my predictions here since 2007, that I use to receive being on deep trance of meditation, and for some reason they have been accomplishing with mathematical precision along the years, either talking about natural events like earthquakes or hurricanes or human affairs like the recession we are at present, the war between Georgia and Russia in the Caucasus or the election of Barack Obama as President, so I must believe that I have a powerful intuition helping me to do this or perhaps somewhere there is superior intelligence sending me these ideas telepathically and wanting to make me a channel of communication to this world.

Nevertheless, the accomplishing of many facts made curious to try to investigate if these same events could be foresaw by other psychics of the past and I found a lot of synchronicities with certain predictions of very reputed seers like Mitchel of Nostradamus, Edgar Cayce, Ulrich of Meinz, Jeane Dixon, St Bosco, Jules Verne,
Grigori Rasputin etc.

The Solar System takes about 226 million "terrestrial years" to complete an orbit around the center of the Galaxy.

Hi Phage - The 25OOO approx cycle is a proccesional cycle as you are no doubt aware.
The cycle of the Sun aorund the Galactic Centre is however much longer as you state - I trust your info on the approx years involved. The Sun rises against the background constellation of Pisces at present but as you know is right on the doorstep of rising in Aquarius - If we think of alignment then opposition comes into play ie draw a line from where the sun is seen to rise Aquarius through the Sun to the circle or Zodiac constellation it lines up with. This shows the Sun is in opposition to Scorpio moving into Saggitatius - To complete the quadrant we have gemini moving into Taurus and Virgo moving into Leo -
I have looked at where Ophusius is and it does just clip the ecliptic plane and also Saggitarius
Could it be that the proccesional cycle is just a cog within a larger cycle of the Sun around the Galactic Centre.
Also many say as follows:- We are always aligned with the centre it is just a point of view - Yet is it not true that the Sun has a dipping motion which rises up and down so would only cross the ecliptic plane of the Galaxy only at cetrain times???Sorry got one bit wrong I meant moving into Scorpio from Saggitarius

Footnote to Phage - I have just read your link - Very interesting though I am not totally convinced - It does not mean I do not believe such obvious evidence but still it throws up more questions in my mind such as the placement of all stars is never truly fixed - Is it not so when you look at the night sky and say for example look at Sirius - Sirius lays on the right hand side of the outer Milky Way yet roll back many years - a lot of years - It was laying on the left hand side from our view point. Though we call stars fixed they are not fixed in reality. So I guess instruments need adjusting after time - Nothing stays constant not even the Polaris eventually other stars like Vega or nr Vega would be the new North star - Hey I am getting way off topic here apologies - it is it all just fascinates me - I spent last night up on the moors star gazing

Defining the precise Galactic equator is a bit problematic but modern astronomers established it somewhat arbitrarily in 1958 so, if Meeus actually did provide those calculations it makes little sense to associate them with the Maya. Also, as has been repeatedly pointed out, the Long Count calendar does not have an end-date.

Sorry AOL I don't see any significant prophetic ability in your OP. Frankly many people could of predicted what you did based on events of 2011. You were way off with the US Presidential elections. No third party power I see. Argentina appears to be going into some very tumultuous economic times currently, you missed that one. Wonder why? Probably because there were no events coming out of the country in 2011 indicative of their economic woes, like the other countries you cited. I am usually open to reading predictions just for interest, but I fail to see anything even remotely extraordinary with this list of predictions.

Well, according with the so special standards you have to qualify or critizise forecasts, it seems that the earthquake on Maine, the Hurricane Sandy and the Charlotte island Megaquake convergence at the end of 2012 was also comming in a so predictable way since 2011, almost everybody were able to see that isnt it?

Come on, Do you really think that Romney had any chance to win being a Mormon trying to convince the most conservative side of the GOP integrated by the radical evangelism in the center and south of the country? If that is not a party by itself, there is no way to define political party at all.

Gingrich, Sanctorum and Ryan several times attacked Romney underlining that it was a too much liberal candidate to be a successful Republican nominee. It is clear that never before in modern times the Republicans have been more divided than now, when in 2011 the impression is that they were all joined in to push Obama out of the whitehouse.

Now, after PRI was moved into the third place among the Mexican political forces in the very tied election of 2006, in between PAN and PRD, it was also very clear they were going to return to the power in this 2012 isnt it?

How about Sarkozy?, who ended 2011 as the most favorite to be reelected among the French politicians, specially after the terrible sexual scandal that the best socialist contender had here in NYC. (Finance Minister and International Monetary Fund Managing Director Dominique Strauss-Kahn.)

However, he lost the election as I predicted it was going to occur, in spite of this nice windfall that he had in 2011, when his principal probable rival became knockout.
